English Amped III AP and Creative Writing Spring 2016 Syllabus Grades For 15 of the 18 weeks in the semester, students earn a score out of 20 for each of the 5 areas of focus: ORWS, Guided Literature, Guided Writing, CPAR, and Weekly AP Prep. For the other 3 weeks, students earn a score out of 100 for the Culminating Research Presentation and Paper and AP Practice Tests 1 and 2. Analyses, arguments, and syntheses are scored using rubrics that combine AP and 6-Traits scoring methods while creative pieces are scored using appropriate genre-based 6-Traits rubrics. Additionally, the District-Mandated Mid-Semester Benchmark Exam and Midterm Semester Exam are worth 100 points each. Finally, the State-Mandated End-of-Course Exam is worth 300 points to comprise 15% of the accumulated semester points.
