ISTEP/IREAD-3 Parent Introduction Presented By: Wendy Natalie Stephanie Fetzer Emily Waggoner *Information included in presentation from IDOE Assessment Website ISTEP Overview The purpose of the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress Plus (ISTEP+) program is to measure student achievement in the subject areas of English/Language Arts and Math. Science is assessed in grades 4 and 6. Test Question Examples Two-Part Questions- This type of question includes a part A and a part B. Test Question Examples Multiple Correct Response Questions- For this type of question, students will select two or more correct answers. Test Question Examples Drag and Drop Questions- This type of question is used when evidence of understanding calls for the selection and arrangement of content. Test Question Examples Select Text Questions- With this type of question, students select evidence in context. Test Question Examples Matching Questions- This type of question asks for series of individual selected responses in a table format. Test Question Examples Equation and Expression Entry Questions- This type of question asks students to create their own numeric answers with expressions or equations. Test Question Examples Graph Lines Question- With this type of question, students graph lines on a coordinate grid. Additional Scored Test Question IREAD-3 Overview Indiana Reading Evaluation And Determination (IREAD) Assessment IREAD-3 , based on Indiana Academic Standards, is a summative assessment that measures foundational reading standards through grade three. IREAD-3 Overview All questions are multiple choice and will be taken in paper/pencil format.
