On September 24th UNICEF will host the second gathering of the Global Partnership on Children with Disabilities
(GPcwd). The partners will evaluate the work undertaken since the first Forum in September 2012 and discuss plans
for future steps for the Partnership. This will include organizational structure, funding and thematic actions for 20132015 to ensure children with disabilities are included in the post-2015 development agenda. For this purpose the
second Forum is being planned to take place between the High level Meeting on Disability and Development
(HLMDD) and the MDG Summit.
Objectives:
- Share work undertaken by the GPcwd since the 2012 Forum
- Agree on the Governance structure, Mission Statement and Vision, funding mechanisms and thematic
priorities for 2013-2015
- Advocate for children with disabilities to be included in the post-2015 development agenda through a Call to
Action
