How to Read a Text
Carefully—paying attention—not while listening to
music with lyrics, watching TV, or using social
media
Closely—annotating—making notes about words,
themes, symbols, and questions while reading
This process cannot be rushed or accomplished in
one sitting.
Fun fact: Professional publishing acquisition
editors take 5 hours to read a book—so your child
requires more time.
Writing Means Rewriting
