This will be a very student driven unit and your active participation is required. In addition to various activities associated with your daily reading, you will have two individual projects and one group project to demonstrate your understanding of the characters, plot, and themes in this novel. INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS Fakebook Page: Due Fri. 12/2 You will be creating a “fakebook” page for a character of your choice in the novel using the following website: http://www.classtools.net/fb/home/page Your Fakebook page should reflect a deep understanding of the character and his/her personality and reactions to events in the novel. Your page must include: Detailed description of at least 5 traits in the character’s personal profile Pictures of the character and all of his/her friends listed on the page At least 5 friends of the character A detailed log of at least 25 comments between the character and his/her friends reflecting major events in the story and appropriate reactions of the characters Creativity—you can also include videos, and other extras to personalize the site Review Game: Due Mon. 12/12 Your review game should reflect the main characters, events, themes, and social issues at the core of the novel. We will play the games in class to review for the test so make your game challenging and meaningful. You can create a game by hand or go online to the following site and create a game on the computer. Save on a USB/flash drive and bring it in display and play with the class. http://jc-schools.net/tutorials/PPT%2Dgames/ Your game must include: At least 25 questions and answers Questions that cover at least five different main areas studied over the course of the novel GROUP PROJECT Group Skit: Due date will be assigned to each group individually DUE DATE:____________________________________________ Every Friday, one group will be responsible for starting the class period by performing a skit. This can be performed in class or you can make a video and show it to the class. The skit should reflect an important scene from the week’s reading. The group will need to come up with a journal question related to the skit and the significance of the scene that is performed. Every group member MUST participate. Use this sheet to assign roles to each group member and write down your personal responsibilities for the skit.
