The raffle was established in 2002 by the Rotary Club of Westlake Village Sunrise to raise money for its own charitable programs and to assist other nonprofit organizations in the local community to raise funds for their programs. Over the past several years, the raffle has raised more than $550,000 for local charitable organizations. Our goal for 2011 is to raise an additional $100,000 in the raffle. Why should my group participate? The raffle is offered to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations as a means to help them with their fundraising activities. There is no cost to your organization to participate in the raffle. The Rotary Club provides the prizes and flyers that you can customize, an informative web site, and ability to download ticket forms. Tickets are sold for $50.00 each. Your organization will, in turn, receive $25.00 for each ticket you sell. Why will people buy raffle tickets from me? First and foremost, they will be helping your organization with its important programs. Secondly, they have the opportunity to win one of the Prizes above for a $50.00 donation. There are many organizations selling these tickets. If they don’t buy from you, they may miss out on an opportunity to help you with your fundraising activities. When Do I Receive My Money? Checks will be distributed for $25.00 times the number of tickets that your organization sold for all tickets sold by May 6th at the Club’s regular breakfast meeting at the North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, CA. You need not be present to receive your check.
