I am the temperate deciduous
forest.
I am located in most continents
of the world, mostly midaltitude.
You will recognize me by my
ever-changing trees, large
variety of wildlife, and beautiful
plants.
Step inside me and you will feel
leaves crunching under your
feet, a cool breeze, and the sun
shining through the leaves.
Look around me and you will see
beautiful flowers such as
bluebells, primroses, and oxlips.
I am the temperate deciduous
forest.
The Temperate Deciduous Forest
By Elizabeth W.
Visit me in the summer but you
will need light clothes, because
it is hot an humid. You may also
need a slicker because I have
more than 18 inches of rain in
the summer.
However, in the winter you will
find you need a warm coat and
boots, because I get chilly in
winter. I can even get below
freezing.
My climate is temperate, from
70° to below 0° and I get an
average yearly precipitation of
20 to 60 inches.
Summers are hot and humid
while winters are cold.
I am the temperate deciduous
forest.
I provide a home for bald
eagles, black bears, chipmunks,
and deer, as well as many
insects.
But you would never find a
rhinoceros or penguin in my
domain.
Listen closely and you will hear
the rustle of wings as a bird
flies overhead. If you are in
Australia, you may hear the
splash of a duck-billed platypus.
I am known for my Tawny
Milkcap or Shiitake mushrooms,
carpet moss, and lady ferns.
Look closely and you will see
mosquitoes, spiders, beetles,
ants, and centipedes.
I am the temperate deciduous
forest.
I am the grasslands.
I am located on the interiors of
continents. You will recognize
me by my flat grassy lands.
Step inside me and you will feel
the evaporating water in the air
and the dried grass beneath
your feet.
Look around me and you will see
lions hunting down a lone zebra,
antelope, gazelles, and other
animals.
I am the grasslands.
Visit me in the summer and you
will find the days getting longer
and hotter than before.
The Grasslands
By Brieanna B.
I provide a home for prairie
dogs, various birds, zebras,
lions, giraffes, and many other
animals.
But you would never find a polar
bear or a Siberian Husky in my
seas of grass.
Listen closely and you will hear
the birds chirping and the
prairie dogs digging.
I am known as the bread basket
of the world.
However, if you visit me in the
winter, you can expect cooler
weather and less flowers.
Look closely and you will also see
files, mosquitoes, bees and
spiders.
My climate is a little humid,
because I get 20 to 35 inches
of rain each year.
I am the grasslands.
I am the grasslands.
I am the desert.
I am located all around the
world.
You will recognize me by my seas
of smooth tan sand and very,
very hot weather.
Step inside me and you will feel
the warm sand between your
toes, and the heat of the hot
blazing sun above you but at
night I start to unwind and cool
down from the warmth of the
day.
Look around and you will see
little vegetation, lizards
crawling on my rocks, vultures
scavenging for dead animals
lying in my warm sand, and little
rats, mice, and other rodents
burrowing into my sand where
it’s a little cooler.
I am the desert.
The Desert
By Shelby L.
Visit me in the summer and you
will find that it is so hot that if
you were a popcicle, you’d melt
in a split second!
However, if you visit me in the
winter you should expect the
same temperatures because I
can be really hot, even in the
winter.
My climate is very hot and arid.
I barely get any rain and it is a
blessing when I do!
I am the desert.
I provide a home for
roadrunners, snakes, coyotes,
camels, gazelles, foxes, and
antelopes.
But you would never find a
penguin or a toucan living on my
smooth warm sand or in my hot
dry skies.
Listen closely and you will hear
the sound of scurrying animals
running through my sand.
I am know for my famous cacti,
home to many small creatures.
Look closely and you will see
some bees and mosquitoes.
I am the desert.
I am the ocean or marine
aquatic biome
I can be found all over the
world.
I can be recognized by my depth
and vastness, and my dark blue
color.
Step inside me and you will feel
wet, small, and the sudden urge
to swim.
Look around and you will see an
empty, shiny plane of
undisturbed blue.
I am the ocean.
Visit me in the summer and you
can expect warmer
temperatures, but because I’m
literally all over the world, I
have no real average
temperature.
My climate is sometimes sunny
and cloudless, but other times I
blow in enormous hurricanes.
I am the ocean.

hear the alien language of the
whales, or even the rhythmic
sound of waves rolling back and
forth above you.
I am known for my seemingly
endless forests of kelp and my
innumerable amount of plankton.
Look closely and you will see
that I have no insects, for they
need land to live.
