Healthcare platform
While it may have not been a major importance in the 18th century, healthcare was
already playing a part in peoples lives. President Washington signed an order in the
17090’s requiring that ship owners had to pay medical insurance for seamen in case of
any injuries or illness (Logos). It was his belief that the employers require to ensure the
welfare. This subject still lingers today with the concept of employer provided healthcare.
Later on through the congress under Washington’s presidency expanded on that law to
clarify it. It stated that seamen had to provide hospital insurance themselves, a separate
category from the ones that the employer had to provide for such as medicine (George
Washington’s Individual Mandates). This gave him popular support from both sides,
which allowed him to be re-elected for the following term. Washington did not have to
face this problem for his first election because he was elected unanimously. No one
would dare run against the man who won the Revolutionary War.
For the problems that plague the nation today, Washington would abolish the
requirement of federally provided insurance. One instance of this would be the
Affordable Care Act where there are plans that are subsidized for those who fall into such
categories. The people would be held responsible for any and all debts incurred in such a
manner.

Economical Platform
In the infancy of the United States George Washington set the standard for the line of a
series of executive leaders as he led the nation onto the prosperous path that it is today
(Pathos). However, the beginning of the nation did not start on bountiful terms due to the
war fought with Great Britain for independence and the staggering amount of debt left
behind from it. Debt was not one of the primary concerns if the average citizen at the
time, but something such as bankruptcy would have ruined the United States (Debts,
Revolutionary War). Thankfully, president Washington rose to the challenge and sorted
out the financial crisis that had the potential to cripple the nation before it even started
(Slippery slope). One of the ways that the financial crisis was solved was the assumption
of debt that would charge the government with accumulating all the state’s individual
debts. During his former lifespan, Washington ran under the Federalist Party, which had
focused mainly on monetary events such as formation of banks, and regulation of
currency. In today’s political party system, Washington would be identified as a
Libertarian due to his ideas on money, specifically debts and loans. It was his belief that
any debt that the government was going to gain in any circumstances should be paid off
as quickly as possible (George Washington Quotes VII). This idea was to mainly focus
on the debt that would result from raising an army to keep the peace.
In today’s political debacle, Washington would advocate for less spending that would
allow for the nation to wipe away it outstanding debt. The United States cannot continue
to grow if the nation is held back by debt that would keep us in the clutches of foreign
nations who would place their interests above ours (Loaded language).

War- Gabe
George Washington was elected as the first president of United States, because he
was a very trustworthy, and a phenomenal military leader. Even though they lost many
battles, Washington was able to audaciously lead his army through Delaware to New
Jersey, and defeat the Hessians. He proved himself worthy as a leader, which further
expanded his credibility, when they were deciding who should rule the nation.
Notwithstanding how George Washington felt, people thought they there was no other
man that could have been the president, other than him, which is why he was
unanimously voted president by the Electoral College. Although Washington, really did
not want to go for a second term, he was elected again, because he was seen as such a
great leader because of his presidential, and previous military leadership. Even historians
today, agree that no other person was suited for president for the time.
Albeit, the oldest the president of our time, he is one of bravest and most military
experienced presidents. His military experience would help him today, by teaching
generals today what to do. His knowledge on leadership would still be applicable today,
because sometimes an old way of doing things, can possibly help what is happening
currently. George Washington would be able to solve things peacefully and amicably, by
making meticulous decisions. Like how he smartly chose not to get included in the
French Revolution, because he knew that would be too much to handle. George
Washington knows when we should and shouldn’t go to war, and knows the feasibility of
helping out other countries.

The first President-George Washington’s Foreign affairs platform.
During the first campaign of President Washington, his beliefs and policy on foreign
affairs remained neutral in order to nurture and maintain the wellbeing of his developing
nation. Washington’s administration was elected due to the popularity acquired for his
monumental actions during the revolutionary war(“American President: A Reference
Resource”). His foreign affairs policy revolved around the neutrality amongst foreign
wars. This included the wars being fought by their allies France. This insistence of
neutrality caused France, England, and Pirates to impress American ships(“American
President: A Reference Resource”). Washington’s neutrality caused disturbance within
the country and the political system. However, his policy secured the continued growth
and development of the country. Not only did this allow for the United States military to
recover from the revolution but it also allowed the government to focus on domestic
issues rather than those of another country. Throughout Washington’s presidency, his
persistent enforcement of international neutrality resulted in a country which continued to
develop.
Therefore, Washington would prioritize today’s disputes with domestic affairs, and the
wellbeing of the United States as the most vital. For instance, he would bring our troops
home from the Middle East, allowing them to spend the holidays with family and friends.
This would allow focus on the democracy of the United States instead of trying to impose
democracy on other countries. Not only would this allow the United States to focus on
the economic and employment issues that are being faced today, this will also allow us to
use the money in which we fund wars to pay off the national debt. President Washington
focus on internal affairs will increase the happiness of citizens living in the United States
due to the opportunities to flourish provided by the internal improvements. President
Washington would put the interests of the American people in front of that of the rest of
the world. He believes that one must perfect the issues in one’s home country before
trying to change the world.

George Washington on Education -mady
George Washington was not as educated as his older brother and father. A Reverend of
St. George’s Parish in Fredericksburg taught Washington. Although Washington lacked a
strong education in his younger years he pursued all knowledge that he could. He was
said to be a good mathematician and land surveyor. In a letter to George Chapman,
Washington writes about how he believes that all children should be entitled to some
education. He did not have many large contributions to education in his life time.
I believe if George Washington were to be president again he would be for free
education. Washington would probably want teachers to be paid more because he
believed that education was very important. I think he would want most education to be
free. Although he believes in education for everyone, Washington may try to bring
religion into the education system since he was raised in the church.
