Our administration building upgrade is still being planned and should
commence sometime this term. We sited touch screen panels in three
rooms at the end of last year. This new technology replaces interactive
whiteboards(IWB). All classes except the new demountable have touch
screens or IWBs. We plan to move an IWB from the staffroom into the new
demountable as part of the administration upgrade.
If you have any concerns about your child or something which is happening
at school please feel free to contact me. You are also able to contact your
child’s teacher but remember they will not be able to meet with parents
whilst they are supervising students. Each stage has a supervisor your are
also able to contact. Please ring or visit the office if you wish to organize a
meeting or call from teachers, assistant principals or myself.

must wear a helmet. Students will only be
allowed to ride home with a helmet. If
students arrive without a helmet we will need

leave home until 8.25am so they do not arrive
at school too early.
Mobile Phones
Students are only permitted to bring mobile
phones to school if a parent deems it
necessary for their safety whilst travelling to
writing to the principal and phones must be
at school and collected at the end of the day.
Traffic
Thank you to all parents who observe the safety rules
around the school. To ensure the safety of all children
it is very important that:

the 40 km speed limit is followed by all
vehicles,
 cars never double park to drop off children.
Please use the marked crossing to cross Pendle Way
and Smith St.
Thank you to everyone for assisting us to keep all our
students safe at school. We understand it can be a little
inconvenient but we want to ensure every child is as safe
as possible at school.
If using the Arnett Street entrance please be
extremely careful when reversing or doing U-turns.
For safety reasons it is advisable to avoid doing a Uturn close to the school gate.
PBL and our School Rules /Expectations
When parking around the school, please observe any
parking zones and do not park across driveways. It is
illegal to park across driveways. Occasionally our
neighbours contact us concerned about people
parking across their driveways. It is extremely
inconvenient for someone’s access to their own
property to be blocked by a parent collecting a child
from our school. Our neighbours are extremely
helpful and alert security or police if they see
intruders in the school grounds. We are very keen to
maintain a good relationship with our neighbours,
please help us to do so.
Nut Products
We have several students with severe allergies in the
school. Parents in the Early Intervention/ Preschool groups
have received a note regarding students who have an
allergy in those groups. Due to the severe nature of the
allergy to several food products in preschool/ early
intervention group no one who is eating should enter the
gate and ramp area around these classes. The whole
school can assist by not walking into the school grounds
eating and remembering to wash hands before leaving for
school.
To reduce exposure to anything which may cause an
allergic reaction to students in the K-6 area of the school
we are asking all parents to assist by not sending nuts or
foods with nuts to school with your child. Foods which
should not be sent include nuts, Nutella, peanut butter or
muesli bars with nuts.
If you wish to send something in to celebrate your child’s
birthday please send lolly bags to be distributed to
students as they leave for the day. Please ensure lollies are
within their use by dates.
Students at Pendle Hill Public School are expected to be helpful,
safe, respectful learners. We actively teach students how to show
this in all our school settings. Our PBL ( Positive Behaviour for
Learning) mascot is Penny Possum. We also run a variety of
programs to support positive student behaviour.
When students are helpful safe, respectful learners they may
receive acknowledgement of this in a variety of ways including
certificates, awards and reward tickets. Students are able to
accumulate a weekly green award which will help them achieve a
bronze, silver or gold award.
Class teachers will give green certificates for behaviour each week.
The certificate will be linked to the classroom reward system and
all students have the opportunity to receive the award if they
have achieved individual or group behaviour goals.
In Term 4 a special reward will be held for students who have
been awarded bronze, silver and gold awards.
