3. For the following hormones identify the target cell(s) and what affect they have:
a. Secreted by the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland; Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH),
Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), Luteinizing
hormone (LH), Prolactin (PRL), Growth hormone (GH), Melanocyte-stimulating hormone
(MSH).
b. Secreted by the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland; Antidiuretic hormone (ADH) and
Oxytocin (OT)
c. Secreted by the thyroid gland; T3 and T4 (Thyroid hormones), Calcitonin (CT)
d. Secreted by the parathyroid gland; Parathyroid Hormone (PTH)
e. Secreted by the adrenal gland; Epinephrine/Norepinephrine, Glucocorticoids, Androgen
f. Secreted by the pineal gland; Melatonin
g. Secreted by the pancreas; Insulin and Glucagon
h. Secreted by the thymus; Thymosin
i. Secreted by the gonads; Estrogen and Testosterone
