Joseph Abraha, MT (ASCP) :
I received my Bachelor Science Degree in Biology and Chemistry from Metro Politian College at Denver,
Colorado in 1992 and pursued my Medical Technology degree from University of Colorado in 1993. I have
worked various positions in the clinical laboratory. Currently I am working in Histocompatibility and
Immunology field at Midwest Transplant Network. I have been a part of MTN for fifteen years and held different
position and played different roles. As part of MTN laboratory staff I continuously striving to provide quality
laboratory services to our transplant centers to ensure that quality patient care occurs with the highest standard in
the most efficient manner. I am also a CAP and ASHI inspector and have conducted several inspections
I take great honor in being an integral part of CLMA and the critical role that CLMA plays in advancing the
profession by educating and advocating on behalf of its members. I have a learned a lot throughout the years and
continue to grow my profession through KCCLMA members, who I consider colleagues who are expertise in the
field with a lot of knowledge and experience. I could contribute and share my experience and also promote and
support the wonderful job our local CLAM chapter is doing. Thank you in advance for consideration of my
application and for the opportunity to serve in my local chapter to enhance the image and increase the visibility of
our profession.
Holly Hamilton, MT(ACSP)
I am currently the LIS (laboratory information systems) Coordinator at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and a
member of CLMA since 2006. The KC CLMA chapter has graciously provided educational and leadership
opportunities, support and networking connections that help me on a daily basis. I became involved in CLMA in
the fall of 2005 when a meeting topic caught my interest. I received a CLMA membership scholarship in 2006,
and I am grateful to be recipient of a KCCLMA scholarship for Thinklab ’07. I have served on the KC chapter’s
education subcommittee, website, filled a temporary position for Secretary in 2010 and later an elected term in
the Secretary position. I am currently serving on the board education committee.
My goals for a KC CLMA board position would be to provide leadership and educational opportunities for all
types of lab professionals, and to build a networking community that supports, promotes and continues to improve
the clinical laboratory profession.
I am a University of Iowa graduate with a B.S. in Medical Technology and certificate in Clinical Laboratory
Science. I reside with my husband and two children in Lawrence Kansas, and when I’m not working I enjoy
boating, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Charles McDonald, Jr. MBA, MT(ASCP)
Charles is the Senior Solution Designer at Cerner Corporation. During his 13 year career in the
laboratory, he has been employed with Ochsner Health System, On Assignment Healthcare Staffing,
Quest Diagnostics, University of Kansas Hospital, and Truman Medical Center (he remains a prn
Medical Technologist with Truman). During his seven years with the KUMC in the blood bank, he
became member of Heart Of America Association of Blood Banks (HAABB), serving on the Education
Committee and is the current Treasurer. His CLMA membership has led to a position on the KCCLMA
board in which is serves as the School & Community Relations Liaison. Charles served four years in the
Marine Corps Reserves and was the recipient of the Naval Health Opportunities Scholarship which led
to his career in the healthcare laboratory. His clinical laboratory education includes Xavier University of
Louisiana (B.S. Chemistry), Louisiana State University Health Science Center-New Orleans (B.S.
Medical Technology, and Avila University (Masters of Business Administration-Health Care
Concentration). He also has received Six Sigma Training and achieved both Green Belt and Black Belt.
Aaron Neal
I have twenty-five years of clinical knowledge and experience with the past seventeen years focused on Health
Care Administration, Management, and Operations.
I was born and grew up in Independence, Missouri. Upon graduating high school, I joined the military. After
serving during the Persian Gulf War, I returned to Kansas City in 1993. I graduated from the University of
Missouri – Kansas City in 1996 with a B.A. in Biology, and was additionally commissioned as a Second
Lieutenant.
After undergrad graduation, I spent 15 years in the medical device sales industry, and was awarded the
President’s Club achievement two years in a row, 2009 & 2010. I currently work for a community non-profit
Blood bank as the Hospital Relations Manager. Additionally, I currently serve as a military reservist with 26
years of total service. I hold the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and position of Brigade staff officer. I am the
former Company Commander of a 36-bed Level II trauma center in Kabul, Afghanistan, and was awarded the
Bronze Star Medal in 2006.
I completed my M.B.A. in Healthcare Administration in 2010. I am a graduate of the Army Lean Six Sigma
course, as well as Naval Postgraduate School, and Command & General’s Staff College.
My objectives for joining the Kansas City CLMA Board of Directors are very simple; to improve the visibility,
awareness, and membership of our local chapter of KCCLMA.
Through my military and civilian business experiences, I feel uniquely qualified to provide direction and
leadership to this board. The Clinical Laboratory Management Association is a paramount organization which
will provide education, awareness, and future vision, for the entire laboratory community. It would be an honor
to serve on the Board.

Ashlea Servi, MT(ASCP)
I have been a clinical laboratory scientist since I graduated the University of Kansas in 1999. I have
been the laboratory director at Lee’s Summit Medical Center since 2008 where I have worn many hats
including Ethics & Compliance Officer and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. I have been involved
in KCCLMA since 2009 and a member of the board since 2010. Being a part of KCCLMA is a
wonderful way for me to associate and network with other laboratory professionals and bring awareness
of the Clinical Laboratory Science profession to others.

David DeWees
David DeWees is a Hospital Account Executive for Quest Diagnostics serving the Greater Kansas City
area, West to Manhattan, Ks and Nebraska. David has been involved in the healthcare field for 19
years. He worked for Midwest Transplant Network for 8 years and transitioned to healthcare sales
where he has worked for the last 11 years in the pharmaceuticals and diagnostic laboratory industries.
He holds a Bachelor of Biological Sciences, a minor in Chemistry and a Master of Business
Administration and is currently pursuing a Masters of Health Service Administration at KUMC.
Dave joined CLMA in 2011 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2013 and currently holds the
office of Treasurer. David is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He
has been in the Kansas City area for 37 years and currently lives in Shawnee, KS with his wife and two
sons.
