In the food business, your server brings you a meal, plus anything else you ask for. (Water, Tea, Coffee, Dessert) In IT, your server brings you data. This could be anything from files like the annual budget, or a web page or a video. • In both scenarios, you may need more than 1 depending on the use case. • In both scenarios, you need to pay for your server. • In both scenarios, you eventually need to replace your server. • In both scenarios, you need to manage your server. What is Server Virtualization? Server Virtualization is the technology of taking a physical server and migrating or moving it to a virtual server image. The virtual image is now software instead of hardware. What was once a 1:1 relationship between physical system and function, is now a 1:M relationship. Our product, Evolve IP VDC (Virtual Data Center), utilizes this technology. VDC enables customers to leverage guaranteed resource reservation pools (processer, memory and disk resources) at Evolve IP’s world-class data centers with multiple layers of redundancy. Since Virtual Data Centers are provided from the Evolve IP private cloud, customers have multiple options to establish private connectivity as if the servers were still sitting on their own on-premis data center. All for a predictable monthly fee. What are the Benefits of Server Virtualization? Simplicity – Replace multiple on-site servers, support, upgrades and backup with a simple “cloud sourced” service. Economics – Convenience of commodity pay for guaranteed computing resources that are needed, for a predictable monthly fee. Pay for what you use every month.
