What is A Server?
In the food business, your server brings you a meal,
plus anything else you ask for. (Water, Tea, Coffee,
Dessert)
In IT, your server brings you data. This could be
anything from files like the annual budget, or a web
page or a video.
• In both scenarios, you may need more than 1
depending on the use case.
• In both scenarios, you need to pay for your
server.
• In both scenarios, you eventually need to
replace your server.
• In both scenarios, you need to manage your
server.
What is Server Virtualization?
Server Virtualization is the technology of taking a physical server and
migrating or moving it to a virtual server image. The virtual image is
now software instead of hardware. What was once a 1:1 relationship
between physical system and function, is now a 1:M relationship.
Our product, Evolve IP VDC (Virtual Data Center), utilizes this
technology. VDC enables customers to leverage guaranteed
resource reservation pools (processer, memory and disk resources) at
Evolve IP’s world-class data centers with multiple layers of redundancy.
Since Virtual Data Centers are provided from
the Evolve IP private cloud, customers have
multiple options to establish private
connectivity as if the servers were still sitting
on their own on-premis data center.
All for a predictable monthly fee.
What are the Benefits of Server Virtualization?
Simplicity – Replace multiple on-site servers, support, upgrades and backup with a simple
“cloud sourced” service.
Economics – Convenience of commodity pay for guaranteed computing resources that
are needed, for a predictable monthly fee. Pay for what you use every month.
Stability – Services from Evolve IP are delivered from geographically diverse technology
centers and are accessible from any location, ensuring that cloud services are available to
you regardless of conditions at your location.
Scalability – Meet business requirements by adding additional resources to virtual
machines, or adding additional virtual machines inside resource pools.
Performance – Apply computing power to servers “virtually” to improve application
performance and enjoy access to limitless bandwidth options.
Control – Enjoy unmatched control and point-and-click configuration over all services
through our award-winning OSSmosis Cloud Management Portal.
Security – Physical and virtual security are no longer your issue. True customer isolation
enables you leverage the power of the cloud without the risk.

How we can Help you $ucceed
Who is a fit? What type of client would be a challenge?
Every type of industry is steering towards server
virtualized technology. With the variety of services
Evolve IP provides, any organization with more than 1
server can benefit from a sort of virtualized server
solution.
Obvious fits
Organizations familiar with managing virtualized
environments and require high availability and
guaranteed resources.
Prospects that are in constant moving and shrinking
environments. Failing environments often drive this.
Companies that are focused on having a smaller physical
footprint and wanting fewer physical machines to
manage.
Maintaining multiple copies of an application that
requires rapid deployments in a test of development
environment.
How we can Help you $ucceed: Qualification Guide (FLOAT)
Evolve IP Qualification Guide covers the key drivers that occur during the sales process, known as
FLOAT: Financial, Love, On-Time, Alignment, Technical
Financial: The cloud-based solution must align with the financial goals of the business. Most
importantly, you need to determine how this will be measured
Love: All stakeholders must love the solution! Find your champion in the process and don’t
underestimate the power of emotion in any critical decision.
On-Time: Timing is everything! If the time is not right to implement new technology don’t
waste design time.
Alignment: For your Cloud solution to FLOAT, you will need to gain acceptance of the buying
model at all levels.
Technical: A Cloud solution needs to meet the technical requirements of the business. There
is no reason for the hassle of a financial exercise if the technology doesn’t fit.
How we can Help you $ucceed: Key Questions
Pre-Sales Design Review
The main things we want to discover are why they should or
shouldn’t move to the cloud. Find out what applications they
use in their organization and their current delivery choices.
Deploying server virtualization may not be the best way to
deliver some applications.
After you qualify the customer; talk to the customer to discuss
the details without getting too technical.
Is there any type of virtualized server environment in
place?
Where are your physical servers located?
Will this only be accessed by the prospects employees? Or
their customers as well?
Is there any reason for the servers to remain on site?
Are there any compliances your organization has to
consider when storing your data?
Do you have a backup disaster recovery plan in place?

Exchange) but is responsible for compliance with licensing terms and
proper use of software.
Customer receives 1 Public IP address per server. Additional IP
addresses are available if customer requires.
Evolve IP strongly recommends that the customer utilize one of the
Evolve IP backup services. No nightly backup or restore services are
included with the product.
RMM (remote monitoring management) from Evolve IP is strongly
recommended.
