GLOBAL BUSINESS

Course Description:
In Global Business students will learn the techniques for entering the international marketplace.
Emphasis on the impact and dynamics of sociocultural, demographic, economic, technological, and
political-legal factors in the foreign trade environment. Topics include patterns of world trade, country
orientation manuals, and operating procedures of the multinational enterprise.
Grading Policy:
Major – Tests, Projects, Essays, Presentations, Research Papers, or other long term assignments – items
that are considered a significant value of the total grade for the course.
Quiz – Examples could be presentations, rough drafts, or quizzes.
Daily – Examples could be homework, class work, participation, signed parent letters or anything else
that doesn’t fit into Major or Quiz categories.

Retest Policy
A maximum value of 75 will be received on the re-assessment. A minimum of one re-assessment per
nine weeks will be offered. If a student is caught cheating on a test, they will receive a 0 on the test and
a re-assessment for that test is not permitted.
Late Policy
Daily & Quiz – Daily or quiz work must be made up the next day the student is present. After that 60%
credit will be the maximum grade received.
Major – Major long term assignments will be accepted late for a 10% penalty per school day for a
maximum of five school days.

Be PREPARED to give great effort!
Be polite, don’t talk, interrupt or get out of your seat when someone else has the floor.
Please put your full name, date and the block number on all “turning in” materials.
After completing your GLOBAL BUSINESS assignments, you may work on other class work if time
permits.
6. Academic honesty is a must. Do your own work. Never copy, print, or download another student’s
work. Cheating, of any type, is not tolerated in this classroom.
7. Do not get on the Internet unless you have other class work research to do.
8. No food or drinks are allowed in the classroom or around computers.
9. Be sure to ask questions, not understanding does not excuse you from a task.
10. Please remember to be respectful of yourself, as well as others, and follow classroom guidelines.
11. Cell phones are to be turned in if student requests to go to restroom.
12. Computers are the property of TWHS Business Department and will not be used for personal
reasons. Computer courtesies will be enforced.

Course Learning Outcomes:
The student will identify and explain terms in the global environment; discuss international institutions;
complete a project regarding other countries and how they operate; and resolve case problems for
international business operations.
