Email: g-cloud@groupcdg.com Service Definition: Digital Platform The Digital Platform (Common Digital Platform™) from CDG is a revolutionary Platform-as-aService (PaaS) initiative, which offers large organisations a quicker and easier path to digital transformation. In short, it simplifies the creation of next generation digital services while extracting all the great value held in existing data and technology resources. Think of it as an agile service layer that builds a bridge between old and new. It comprises an integrated suite of open-source and open standard software components that help large and complex organisations to rapidly launch and integrate a comprehensive digital services capability. The Common Digital PlatformTM provides the capability to: Exploit market opportunities through the rapid and agile provision of future proofed multi-channel digital services Integrate in to heritage systems –enabling existing assets to realise their value in the digital world. Support richer and faster business insight and analysis through Total View of Business (TVOB) Eliminate data silos and data fragmentation Deliver breadth of functionality, choice and affordability through adoption of the most effective blend of enterprise class open source and vendor provided software components Harness cloud scale technologies and processes ‘as a service’ meeting critical demand peaks. Benefits of the Common Digital PlatformTM The Common Digital PlatformTM provides the following benefits to government organisations that need to rapidly develop a flexible and effective digital capability: Common, shared and reusable services (cost and complexity reduction) Consistent user experience across multiple market channels and services Flexible digital service scalability to meet sudden demand peaks Future proofed – open source and open standards mean no proprietary system lock in Service risk reduction and business continuity through almost instant stand up of a duplicate digital service instance Ease of integration to existing heritage systems Commercial value attributable to shared and re-usable services and use of proven open-source software wherever possible. Delivery of Digital by Default Service Standard compliant applications to end users Common Digital PlatformTM Outcomes Develop a service-based digital platform - quickly, easily and cost effectively. The Common Digital PlatformTM will enable any government department to embrace new and emerging technologies, while making the most of and complementing the existing legacy infrastructure in use today. As a result, customer-facing digital services will be developed and deployed faster. Costs will be reduced and value enhanced because the Common Digital PlatformTM embraces an extensive ecosystem of open source and open standards software components to deliver much of the required functionality. Platform components have 're-usability' built in which enhances value through sharing and re-use. The Common Digital PlatformTM provides: A centralised and modular digital service platform that integrates with government department’s existing technology infrastructure The ability to launch digital customer services quickly with the potential for zero system redevelopment. A best-in-class digital marketing and analytics platform that can scale horizontally and vertically. The Common Digital PlatformTM incorporates a number of pre-defined software components to accelerate the development and delivery of comprehensive digital customer services: Data matching and cleansing Multichannel customer interaction Analytics for business and management insight Single View of Customer Mobile integration Digital content management Electronic data capture Enhance business capability and efficiency: Improve customer engagement – simplify how you create new service applications across all customer channels and gain a deeper, quicker understanding of customer behaviour. Extract value from existing data resources – create a dynamic way to maximise legacy investments while creating a new digital-driven IT operation. Reduce costs – support consolidation of IT service requirements and cost transparency initiatives. Services can be ‘apportionable’ to consumers/users of the platform. Base Common Digital PlatformTM Provides the customer with an initial entry-level PaaS capability to enable application development, management and operational management capabilities supported with CPU, memory and storage resources and relevant operating system. In addition, CDP Base platform provides the opportunity to demonstrate working business functionality. The Common Digital PlatformTM Base package includes: Cloud resources (Memory, CPU, Storage, Networks, etc.), the base IaaS services upon which the CDP PaaS is built Resource management tooling Hosting either as a CDG managed service or alternatively as CDG architectural and configuration service for a Client managed cloud service. In the latter case CDG will provide Technology Office services to support the CDP Runtime implementation A framework to enable rapid build and deployment of your own business services and applications Typical Common Digital PlatformTM use cases CDG’s Common Digital Platform comprises three major components, Integration, Insight, and Exploit. Respectively these components provide for heritage and third party system and service integration, big data and powerful analytics to deliver rich business insight, and transformation of clunky product focussed user journeys to omni channel customer value propositions. Typical use cases incude: Business Transformation. Delivery of customer focussed experiences layered on top of an existing heterogeneous heritage enterprise presented as rich digital journeys Business Transformation. Pragmatic re-architecture of the existing enterprise from monolithic application stacks into micro service oriented and event driven enterprise capabilities without wholesale rip and replace Business Transformation. Creation of rich Business Insight through aggregation, filtering and analytics of the wide range of siloed and fragmented data sources existant in the enterprise coupled with the implementation of rich new data sources capturing customer behaviour, social sentiment, transactions and events Operational Transformation. Advisory (Logic) Vision: work with the customer to develop a benefits plan to support the creation of a business case Realisation: the business requirements are captured to form part of the Statement of Work Architecture: development of a platform architecture to address business, application, operational and informational requirements and provide the blueprint for platform delivery activities including systems and infrastructure design Governance: delivery of all documentation required for compliance with the customer’s governance processes Risk: assessment of key business and technical risk is conducted at the outset of the engagement and subsequently managed throughout the engagement Security: we take security seriously and conform to the ISO27001 standard Day to day execution of this service is managed through the CDG Technology Office functions Adapt, Resource and Operate, Our collaborative culture makes it much easier for us to work in a multi-supplier environment. Delivery (Adapt) Ensures that project goals are aligned with corporate objectives Defined structure for delegation, authority and communication Controlled and organised ‘start, middle and end’ via defined but adaptable stages Regular reviews against plan and business case Execution of design, development, test and integration in the most cost effective way whilst maintaining high quality delivery Provides an appropriate approach to support knowledge transfer and building expertise Support (Operate) Provides process and tools to ensure service delivery Ensures effective transition from projects to support via CDG’s Hypercare process Based on the ITIL best practice framework Responsible for the on-going management of the technology that is used to deliver and support services Service delivery in line with relevant service level and operational level agreements The service will be designed to deliver a specified and agreed level of services within an ever-changing environment Information Assurance The Impact Level (IL) certification requirement for the majority of services contained within this service description is not applicable. For any cloud based software tools that are provided to support service delivery, IL certification will be provided by CDG’s preferred service provider partners and suitable for IL0, IL1, IL2 and IL3 data if required. All data centres are highly resilient Tier3 and UK sovereign. On-boarding and Off-boarding Once the customer has selected the preferred Service, both the Customer and CDG must complete the following On-Boarding and Off-Boarding processes: Client On-Boarding Responsibilities: Service selection and confirmation Provision of a single point of contact/product owner Agree Service location Procurement process completed CDG On-Boarding Responsibilities: Confirm Service contact Provision Resources on confirmation of service requirements Provision to the customer access to tools, infrastructure and documentation (by agreement and as applicable) Client Off-Boarding Responsibilities: Minimum 30 day notice period to terminate and off-board from the service Recover and migrate all customer-specific data from tools CDG Off Boarding Responsibilities: Removal of all customer data (CDG may make an additional charge for transferring data out of the service). Financial Recompense There is no financial recompense model available for this service. Training Training can be provided by CDG to support the management and delivery of the Integration service as applicable. Ordering and Invoice Process CDG will invoice the customer on a monthly basis for service consumption. Payment can be made to CDG via Purchase Order detailing CDG quotation and Statement of Work reference numbers. Termination Terms Termination by the Customer: The customer is required to give one month’s notice before terminating the service. There is no termination cost for this Service but CDG may request an additional charge for transferring data out of the service. Termination by the Supplier: CDG reserves the right to terminate an active service if one or more of the following conditions apply: The customer does not pay for the service provision at agreed rates and charges Force majeure Insolvency Material Breach Data Restoration/Service Migration For service migration, CDG allows existing data to be migrated to and from Business Analysis software tools if required. Consumer Responsibilities The customer shall be responsible for ensuring timely access to people, information and systems (hardware and software) to enable CDG to deliver required services.
