1.0 Document Introduction
This document provides you with the service definition to help you understand the
Architecture service and its associated outcomes and benefits.

2.0 Service Definition: Architecture Services
CDG’s Technology Office component Logic, provides the vision, strategy and Architecture
to deliver digital transformation projects.
The objectives of the Architecture service are to:

To provide structure surrounding architectural strategy and vision

To ensure joined-up thinking and a cohesive means of decision making within the
organisation providing stability, efficiency to enable growth

To accelerate understanding and interpretation of requirements

To understand the impact on, and of, other architecture development cycles ongoing in parallel

To select the relevant tools and techniques to be used in association with the
selected viewpoints

To derive a series of Architectures that deliver continuous business value (e.g.
capability increments) through the exploitation of opportunities to realise building
blocks
The deliverables from this service will include architectural artefacts such as Architecture
roadmap, vision and strategy, Architecture requirements and solution development. The
scope of the service will be dependent on the individual service requirements and will
utilise industry standard frameworks such as TOGAF. CDG can provide the following
architecture services: Solution Architecture, Technical Architecture, Software Architecture,
Application Architecture, Information Architecture and Data Architecture.
The following is in scope for this service:

Architecture for the defined, agreed area (e.g. Application or Information etc.)

Architecture requirements analysis

Interfacing

Risk analysis

Documentation
The following is out of scope for this service:

Business and data analysis – it may be deemed necessary to run some of these in
parallel with this task to meet business milestones

System development and testing – it may be deemed necessary to run some of these
in parallel with this task to meet business milestones
This service will involve the following stages as an example such as implementation of
Enterprise Architecture and is dependent on the individual service requirements:

3.0 Information Assurance
The Impact Level (IL) certification requirement for the majority of services contained within
this service description is not applicable. For any cloud based software tools that are
provided to support service delivery, IL certification will be provided by CDG’s preferred
service provider partners and suitable for IL0, IL1, IL2 and IL3 data if required. All data
centres are highly resilient Tier3 and UK sovereign.
4.0 On-boarding and Off-boarding
Once the customer has selected the preferred Service, both the Customer and CDG must
complete the following On-Boarding and Off-Boarding processes:
4.1 Client On-Boarding Responsibilities:

Service selection and confirmation

Provision of a single point of contact/product owner

Agree Service location

Procurement process completed
4.2 CDG On-Boarding Responsibilities:

Confirm Service contact

Provision Resources on confirmation of service requirements

Provision to the customer access to tools, infrastructure and documentation (by
agreement and as applicable)
4.3 Client Off-Boarding Responsibilities:

Minimum 30 day notice period to terminate and off-board from this service

Recover and migrate all customer-specific data from tools
4.4 CDG Off Boarding Responsibilities:

Removal of all customer data (CDG may make an additional charge for transferring
data out of the service).

De-commission of tools

Transfer of all appropriate documentation

6.0 Service Management Details
For software tools required to support the delivery any this service, CDG’s preferred service
provider partners Carrenza, Rackspace or Skyscape will mandate the service. Please refer
to Carrenza, Skyscape and Rackspace G-Cloud service descriptions for more information
on available service levels.
7.0 Service Constraints
For software tools required to support the delivery of this service, CDG’s preferred service
provider partners Carrenza, Rackspace or Skyscape will mandate the service. Please refer
to Carrenza, Skyscape and Rackspace G-Cloud service descriptions for more information
on available service levels. Please refer to CDG GCloud Service Level Framework
document in supporting documents.
8.0 Service Levels
For software tools required to support the delivery of this service, CDG’s preferred service
provider partners Carrenza, Rackspace or Skyscape will mandate the service. Please refer
to Carrenza, Skyscape and Rackspace G-Cloud service descriptions for more information
on available service levels.
9.0 Financial Recompense
There is no financial recompense model available for this service.
10.0 Training
Training can be provided by CDG to support the management and delivery of this service
as applicable.
11.0 Ordering and Invoice Process
CDG will invoice the customer on a monthly basis for service consumption. Payment can
be made to CDG via Purchase Order detailing CDG quotation and Statement of Work
reference numbers.
12.0 Termination Terms
12.1 Termination by the Customer:
The customer is required to give one month’s notice before terminating the service.
There is no termination cost for this Service but CDG may request an additional charge for
transferring data out of the service.
12.2 Termination by the Supplier:
CDG reserves the right to terminate an active service if one or more of the following
conditions apply:

The customer does not pay for the service provision at agreed rates and charges

Force majeure

Insolvency

Material Breach
13.0 Data Restoration/Service Migration
For service migration, CDG allows existing data to be migrated to and from the service
software tools if required. CDG reserve the right to charge for providing any data migration
service. Please refer to CDG GCloud Service Level Framework document in supporting
documents.
14.0 Consumer Responsibilities
The customer shall be responsible for ensuring timely access to people, information and
systems (hardware and software) to enable CDG to deliver required services.
15.0 Technical Requirements
All technical requirements necessary to support the delivery of required services will be
defined and agreed with the customer before the commencement service delivery.
16.0 Trial of Service
CDG offers an open and transparent view of this service and subject to commercial
confidentialities, is happy to demonstrate the features and capabilities where possible.
17.0 Sub-contractors
CDG many on occasion use third party sub-contractors to deliver its Architecture Services.

Standards for Consultancy Day Rate cards
Consultant’s Working Day – 8 hours exclusive of travel and lunch
Working Week – Monday to Friday excluding national holidays
Office Hours - 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday
Travel and Subsistence – Included in day rate within M25. Payable at department’s
standard T&S rates outside M25
Mileage – As above
Professional Indemnity Insurance – included in day rate
