Viking Project Summary: Your final product will be a creative story book about Viking explorations. The story will focus on one main character (a Viking). The story book must reference historical facts in order to show evidence of understanding the Viking unit. The story must also be creative and well-organized in order to show evidence of Language Arts literacy and writing skills. Length: The story book should be around 1.5-3 pages typed. The story book must be double spaced. Times New Roman font. Black ink. Visuals: Cover page [full name, period, date, title of story] AND writing [1.5-3 pages typed] Step 1: Choose a MAIN CHARACTER (a Viking). The character can be real or made up. Step 2: Research as much as you can about Viking’s explorations, everyday lives, conquests…etc. In your story be sure to include: - Get all the basics. Where was he born, lived, married etc…. When did he start his adventures? Why was he exploring? Explain a few journeys or famous events he was a part of. What challenges did he have to overcome? (Climax of the story) Step 3: Create a basic theme and story-line Create a list of characters Create a basic introduction, Create a plot, Create a conclusion. Step 4: Write a rough draft of the story. (Hand written) Proofread and fix any errors on your rough draft Step 5: Create a few picture pages to go along with your story. Draw or print them off the internet. Include Color. Step 6: Type a final draft. Staple cover page, picture pages, and typed story all together. The story has some but not all essential elements. Writing is poorly organized and lacks important information. The story lacks a theme, introduction, plot, and conclusion. Minimal details or examples are used in the writing. No clear details or examples are included in the writing. No more than 35 spelling or grammatical errors.
