M.Sc., ORGANIC CHEMISTRY:
The M.Sc Course at our college aims at nurturing PG students into keen analytical and ethical
thought. leaders; serving the long term interests of society. The course proposes to expose the
students to the best healthy practices in each subject and enable them to absorb the same.
The intent of the course is to build subject competencies in students and prepare them for
challenging professional careers with an emphasis on core Indian values and ethical practices.

Pharmactical industries in and around Bangalore, Premier research institutes like IISc,

Eligibility:

A candidate who has passed the B.Sc Degree examination from Bangalore University or
from any other Autonomous colleges or deemed to be Universities or universities
recognized by UGC and has secured not less than 50% of the marks in the aggregate in
the Chemistry subject. In the case of SC/ST students the minimum percentage of marks
required shall be 45%
Duration of the Course:
The course of study for M.Sc, degree shall extend over a period of two years divided into 4
(four) semesters.
Number of seats:
The course will have an intake of 40 students, all will be filled by the college only.
Medium of Instruction:
The medium of instruction shall be English.
Fee Concession:
Fee concession may be allowed to students, as per university rules
Accommodation:
Out station students can avail hostel and PG facilities with extra charges.
Admission Procedure:
1. Applicants can apply through online.
2. Applications can also be downloaded and could be submitted in our college office.
3. Application form for M.Sc will be available in our college premises from 1st May 2013
onwards.
4. Admission will be made on the spot considering the percentage of marks secured only in
Chemistry from 1st to 5th Semester in case the results of 6th semester is not announced.
5. Applicants are requested to submit their filled in application form along with the below
mentioned documents for merit seats

Standard X mark sheet
ii.
Standard XII mark sheet
iii.
Bachelor’s degree mark sheets (available as on date)
iv.
Fees structure will be disclosed at the time of issuing application form.
v.
Study certificate for seven continuous years to prove the nativity.
6. Non- Karnataka state students can avail management seats.

The department is having four spacious PG Laboratories and three Research Laboratories. Also
the department is equipped with the following instruments

2. Alpha Bruker FT-IR spectrophotometer
3. Shimadzu UV-Vis spectrophotometer
4. Five-channels Bio-Logic Potentiostat/Galvanostat
5. Single channel Versa-Stat Potentiostat/Galvanostat
6. Single channel Bio-Logic Potentiostat/Galvanostat
7. Quartz Crystal Microbalance
8. Rotating disk electrode, rotating ring disk electrode set up
9. Deep freezer
10. Sonicator with ultrasonic processor for the synthesis of nanoparticles
11. Vacuum oven
12. Tubular furnance

to relax and unwind. Students have subscribed for The Week magazine. Every week they are
getting latest issue of the magazine.
Fieldwork
Fieldwork is a crucial part of studying. It offers a great opportunity to see the world firsthand and
experience education in a new light. For required subject field work was done. It helped them to
develop their vital skills. These skills include things like, investigative, data collection, analysis,
questionnaire, and computer skills.
Library
Books are people's best friends and the college exemplifies this. The college has a spacious twostoried library housing around1000 number of books on varied topics.
