A. both stories are made up and you dont see ghosts ghosts are not real.
B. Both of the storys are made up I know this Because there is know way a ghost can Die so that is
how I know it is made up.
C. Both stories “The Fog” and “The Hitchhiker” are fictional because they use made up things. Both
stories us non-real things which would be ghosts. In the story, “The Fog”, the author uses ghost
soldiers from Gettysburg. In the story, “The Hitchhiker”, the author use Ronald Adams as the
hitchhiker. This is how both “The Fog” and “The Hitchhiker” are fictional stories.

A. One theme that both “The Hitchhiker” and “The Fog” have in common is things may not always seem
like what they appear. In the story, “The Hitchhiker” Ronald Adams kept seeing this odd hitchhiker
appear every few miles and see him when he stopped at a gas station. But this hitchhiker was actually
Ronald Adams himself. Ronald Adams was dead. In the passage, Mrs. Whitney tells Ronald Adams
that he died in a car crash. That’s when he realizes he was the hitchhiker. In the story, “The Fog,” the
doctor as approached by 2 men about another wounded man. After the doctor was finished the 2 men
said that he could go now. So the doctor left and stopped at a gas station the doctors asked the
attendant about the town he was just in. The attendant said that it was Gettysburg. That’s when the
doctor realizes he was approached by dead soldiers. This is one theme both dramas have in common.
B. Both dramas theme is never go away far from your home. The hitchhiker going away from his house
and going to another state and he’s son die and he has to come back.
C. One theme “The Hitchhiker” and “The Fog” have in common are that people are not always as they
seem. The theme was developed in each play I know this because there always was a solution to the
story and solution for “The Fog” was at the End the Doctor figured out that People he worked on were
ghost. The solution for “The Hitchhiker” was that his mom was in the hospital because her oldes son
Died and he ended up finding out it all was in his head.

1. “The Fog” and “The Hitchhiker “demonstrate the characteristics of a fictional story. They are both of
the mystery genre and are plays. The biggest sign is that the stories are plays. The second biggest
sign that the stories are fiction are the ghost characters. The hitchhiker in “The Hitchhiker” is a ghost.
“The Fog” ghost characters are Zeke, Eben, and a wounded man.
2.“The Fog” and “The Hitchhiker” share the theme of things not always being as they seem.
In “The Fog” the doctor thought that Eben and Zeke were real men who needed help (pg. 78). In
reality, the two men were ghosts and the doctor was walking through the Gettysburg battlefield (pg.
84). The doctor didn’t really put all the clues together until the very end of the play when he realized
that the men were ghosts.
In “The Hitchhiker,” Adams was being followed by a man. The text states on page 94, “But I did not
see him again until late next afternoon.” Adam eventually tries to kill this man (page 97). Once Adam
finally calls home he finds out the truth about himself, he is actually dead. Mrs. Whitney, a neighbor
answers his mom’s phone and says, “It’s all taken place since the death of her oldest son, Ronald.”
Adams is really Ronald and finds out that he died. The reader and Adams realize that Adams is
actually a ghost that hasn’t realized what has happened to himself.
