Mission and objectives of Elrazi College
Since established, the college provided an excellent infrastructure and
facilities that enable medical and technological sciences education. We
offer intensive training which meets national and international
requirements as well as promoting scientific research.
By adopting proper planning and good management, the college looks
forward for a bright academic future.
Establishment
Elrazi College was founded in 2001 by the first batch of Dental students.
Location & Area
Elrazi College is built on 35,000 square meters at Alazhari town/ square 2
Components
The college is composed of:
- Main building which include Lectures halls with a capacity of more
than 1,000 students at a time, and equipped with modern
educational and instructional aides that conform with national and
international standards.
- Dental teaching Hospital
- Specialist teaching hospital (under construction on 20.000 square
meters).
Recognition
Elrazi College is recognized by Ministry of Higher Education, the Sudanese
Medical Council, and accredited by the WHO.

Post Graduates Studies
-The college supervises (in collaboration with Tanta University/Egypt and
Warwick University /UK) MSC programs in medicine, dentistry and
pharmacy (in collaboration with Warwick University/UK).
- The Sudanese Medical Specialization Board has approved Elrazi College as
a training centre for the specialization of orthodontics and pediatrics.

Rules of Registration and Admission
- Result of the Secondary School Certificate should be %75 and above for
medicine/dentistry/pharmacy programs
- Student should apply by himself or his guardians
- Final approval requires health checkup and personal interview
- To comply with rules and regulations (including fees payments and
uniform) of the college.
General Admission
Students apply at the admission office/Ministry of education, and complete
registration procedures at the college premises.
Direct admission
- Students apply to the college by presenting relevant certificates and
other documents.
- Filling in the initial form
- Undergo health check and personal interview
- Filling in the admission form
- Payment of the first installment of fees
- Receiving his/her ID card, calendar and time table
Rules of transfer from other Universities
Admission of students other than the first year students.
- The college doesn’t accept dismissed students, except those discussed
and exempted by the admission committee due to acceptable reasons
- Secondary school certificate must comply with the requirements of
Elrazi College

- The applicant must be a regular student in a recognized college prior to
transfer
- Pass the last exams he/she had undertaken before transfer
- Successful completion of academic year in the same program.
- present a copy of the secondary school certificate and the curriculum of
previous courses
- The college may look into the applications of mature students (each
case will be studied individually by the dean and the faculty board
- Undergo health checkup and personal interview
- Fill in the registration form
- To wait until the final acceptance is received from the ministry of
Education
- Fees payment
- Consent to abide by rules and regulation of the college

Rules of management and assessment
Of examinations
These rules are known as rules of management and assessment of
examinations.
Definitions
1- College: Refers to Elrazi College of Medical &Technological
Sciences
2- Program: Different academic programs (medicine, dentistry,
pharmacy,
laboratory
sciences,
computer,
business
administration, dental technology)
3- Academic Board: Formed according to regulations of Ministry of
Education
4- Committee: Refers to the Examination committee
5- First semester exam: Is the exam that follows the end of first
semester.
6- Second semester exam: Refers to the exam that follows the end
of the second semester.
7- Supplementary: Is a second session exam for those who did not
succeed in one or two subjects
8- Substitute :
A second session exam for absent students who
have acceptable excuses
9- External student: A student who fails to pass one academic in
two successive exams.
10- Invigilator: Staff member in charge of supervising and
monitoring exams.
11- External Examiner: An Examiner who is invited to participate
in the assessment process

Subjects imposed by
Ministry of education (Arabic language, Islamic culture, English
language, Computer)

13- Academic Year: The period starts from the beginning of
registration and ends by completing the specified course (not less
than 30 weeks)
General rules
Examination committee is responsible of preparing and safekeeping
examinations. It may assign whoever is suitable to help in the process. It
consists of:
1-Academic Secretary:
He is responsible of:-
- Preparation, revision and safekeeping of examinations.
-Supporting tools are available
- Records and communication related to exams are safeguarded.
2- Examination office
- Preparation of examination documents.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- collecting papers & answer sheets, hand it over to the concerned
examiners and receive results.
3- Coordinators:
- Provide the Registrar with subjects to enable him to set the time
table for exams, contact examiners and organize invigilators.
4- Registrar :
-To prepare lists and seating numbers
- Prepare and display exam timetables (2 weeks before exams starts)

- To make sure that examination halls are well equipped.
- To supervise release of results.
5- Student Affairs:
- Receiving medical reports and any other excuses.
-May help in the exams process.
- Receiving attendance lists and arrange for the enquiry committee
Examination rules (concerning students)
First Session
-Students are expected to have completed the prescribed Course
- Attendance should not be less than %75
- All students must be inside the examination hall 15
minutes before the start.
- Students may be allowed to enter in the first half an
hour if they present an acceptable excuse, provided that
no additional time will be granted at the end of the prescribed time.
-Seating should be according to index numbers
- Students must fill in the places specified in the Answer
Book with index numbers and any required information.
- Students must leave the examination hall as soon as they hand over the
answer books
- Exchange of tools & using Mobile phones is prohibited
- Tearing off papers from the answer book is prohibited

- Students must keep silent as soon as they enter the examination room
- Pens must be put down as soon as the invigilator declares time off
- Drinking water for students is available.
Second session Exams
- Also applicable to supplementary and substitute exams.
Exam Irregularities
In case of irregularity:
-
The subject in question will not be marked, & the student will score
null.
Suspension for a certain period of time decided by the faculty board.
Terminal dismissal in case of repeating the action.
Notification of guardians.
Names will be posted on the college board.

Final marks are out of 100 (20 for tests, assignments and any other duties –
80 for final exam)

Student repeat the year When:
-He /She fail in more than two subjects in the final exam.

He / She fail to pass supplementary exams
He / She is deprived to sit for exams because of long absence
External students
Are students who fail in final exams for two successive years.
External student has only one chance to pass the exam. The academic
board has the right to give the student a second chance.
He/ she has to fill in the application form for re-sit.
Deferment
- Students who want to defer the academic year for acceptable reasons
have to apply (by filling in the appropriate form) before the end of first
semester
- Deferment is not allowed for two successive years in the same class. A
student will be dismissed without notification.
- 2o % percent of fees will be deducted from the Student who is
withdrawing the college
- To restart studies, an application form is to be filled in and presented to
the registrar office for procedures.
Misconduct:
Any abnormal behavior that breach rules and regulations of the college
(including misbehavior during lectures, examinations or inside Library).
Refusal (or even objection) to present the ID card, if requested by
concerned employees or staff members.

Disciplinary actions
-
Suspension for a period of time specified by the disciplinary committee.
Deprivation from activities of the college.
Written warning .
Notification of guardians.
Student may appeal to the college administration , who has the right to
accept or refuse the appeal
Results & Graduation Certificate
Results of final exams will be discussed by the examination board and
endorsed by the faculty board.
Confidentiality must be observed in handling and discussing results
- Bachelor of Science will be awarded to students after completing
successfully the prescribed course (in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy,
laboratory sciences, computer), and the diploma of dental technology
to students who complete the three years course.
- Certificates should be available as soon as they are approved and
signed.
- Complaints regarding results, or requests to repeat marking should be
forwarded to the academic affairs within a specified period of time.
