Looking for the kitties’ owner One day, three senior high school students, Mary, Sandy, and Judy, they were on their way home as usual. Suddenly, Mary and Sandy saw a person who had sunburn on the back of his neck as if he worked bent over a lot. That person swung around and put down a big box. Mary exchanged a puzzled glance with Sandy, and then turned her eyes back to the big box. The three girls screwed up their faces and quickly walked to it. Mary reached over and thumped the box with her fingers, and they opened it slowly. Inside the box were six little lovely kitties. Time seemed to stand still as they gazed at them. But they decided to find out the kitties’ owner because they seemed there was no turning back now. They tried to find out the person who put the box on the road. But after three hours, they still gained nothing. Judy was so tired that she really wanted to give up. So when a sender came hurrying down the steps next to them and pressed a piece of paper in Judy’s hand, she was preoccupied and didn’t even think to look at him or do anything, but they didn’t know there is some important information on the paper. Even though Mary knew she should be looking for clues, but she really thought they couldn’t find the owner and felt very upset. But Sandy was different from Mary and Judy, she insisted on using their own way to cracking the case. At the same time, Mary threw herself down next to Judy and pulled off her boots. “Oh, I don’t think we can just depend on ourselves, and maybe we should rely on help from Lulu, she is the smartest one in the class.” Sandy said. Judy also considered that it was going to be tough trying to solve the problem without Lulu butting in. They went to ask for Lulu’s help right away. The three girls gave simple declaration to Lulu, and Lulu came up with an idea immediately. But she said “Sorry, I must get on with my chores. Good luck with your essay.” Sandy finally took notice of the paper which the sender pressed into Judy’s hand. The person who put down the big box, his picture emerged on that paper, and the luckiest is that below the picture was his workshop’s address. “Oh my god, it just like what Lulu had said, she wanted all of us to pay attention on everything at our sides, not like what we had done – keep aimlessly looking for that strong person.” said Mary. They rekindled fire of hope all of a sudden and the address gave them a head start. They rose from their seats and trotted to the workshop. “Ding dong. Ding dong.” No one answered the door. Judy nudged Sandy with her elbow and felt confuse because it should be working time right now. They stood frozen on the doorstep, waiting for the person called Mr. Brown back. After thirty minutes, Mary shouted out “Look! Here Mr. Brown comes back.” Sandy dropped silently to the ground, her knees flexing to take the stress of landing, and they walked to Mr. Brown. “Excuse me, Mr. Brown, we saw you put the big box which had six little kitties inside on the ninth street. We will like to ask you if the box is belonging to you or not.” said Judy. It was easy to see Judy looking eager for his answer. After a while, Mr. Brown said “Actually, believe it or not, I saw the box on my doorstep this morning. I had no idea so I slapped it down on the ninth street. Sorry. But follow me; maybe these poor little kitties need some milk now.” He gestured for them to follow him. The six kitties finished their milk and the three girls had some cookies, too. But although they had done something different, it wasn’t the key to solving the whole case. What’s the worst, it rained! Because of the rain, they were forced to pause their survey, being powerless waiting for the rain stopped. Finally, it had stopped raining, but that didn’t help their mood away. Sandy said “Come on, try to look on the bright side, we surely will find the kitties’ owner.” Sandy was a perfectionist, once she set her mind to something, she wouldn’t quit. They thought maybe they should come back to the ninth street because Mary had premonition that they would had some gain at there. Judy took a big gulp of air and kept going without choice. When they went to the ninth street, something amazing happened; a little girl with the green eyes, the rosy cheeks and the pouting mouth was there seemed anxious. Time seemed to stand still as they gazed at her, and Sandy walked to the girl. The girl named Jessica; she said that she was looking for her cats, the three girls felt excited. Sandy told Jessica the whole story, interrupted by Mary when she felt the need to add a detail. Jessica told them because her mother didn’t agree her to feed the cats, so she put these poor little guys on her neighbor, Mr. Brown’s doorstep, but now, she thought it wasn’t correct and back to find her kitties, she promised to the three that she will never abandon them again. In the end, Mary, Sandy, and Judy luckily found out the kitties owner.
