Wai-lok joined Master Assets Ltd Group as Director in August 2014. With five entities within the group, he is presently looking after investment projects of the firm. He is responsible for the development of projects from design control to construction management. Before joining Master Assets Ltd, Wai-lok was an Asia Pacific Director/ Commercial Director of a public-listed international consultancy firm. With over 1,200 staff in SEA and since 2007, he had been looking after the operation of the SEA region including China for seven years. His experience covers 14 countries across three continents including HK, Macau, China, Thailand, Korea, Indonesia, Australia, Vietnam, Middle East and Africa. He has ample local and international experience in project management and direction in planning, design and constructions of multi-disciplinary projects. With over thirty years in a senior role and projects over fourteen countries, Wai-lok has broad experience in handling conceptual design, project development, construction administration and programming, computer aid design and project management. He is able to lead and direct large scale projects of multi-disciplines and also expertise in directing multi-disciplinary design and construction work including deep basement excavation, geotechnical works, infrastructure, foundation and high-rise buildings construction. Since 1983, he has been a Registered Structural Engineer under the Hong Kong Building Ordinance and is directly responsible to the Government in respect of design, construction, supervision and all relevant statutory submission procedures under the Hong Kong Government’s Buildings (Construction) Regulations on appointed projects. He is fully conversant with Building Regulations and International Codes of Practice. Between 1985 and 1994, he ran his own practice for nine years and was in charge of more than 70 projects over this period valued at over 1b USD. Projects under his charge and completed included hospital, nursing school, HKSAR Legco Chamber, Cargo Freight Station, large residential development, intelligent commercial building at central, aged homes, power substations, industrial buildings and commercial complex. For community services, he has served St John Ambulance for over 35 years. In 2001, as sanctioned by Her Majesty the Queen, he has been admitted as a Serving Brother of St John (S B St J) granted under the Grand Prior of the Most Venerable Order of The Hospital of St John of Jerusalem. Wai-lok was a Registered Principal of The Association of Consulting Engineers Hong Kong since 2006 and he had also served as a council member of the Association between 2007 and 2011. He had also been appointed by the HKSAR as a Committee Member of the Appeal Board Panel under Entertainment Ordinance, Entertainment Bureau, HKSAR for six years since 2001. Wai-lok was a member of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, member of the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in Thailand and is presently a member of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. He also serves as a Reviewer of a profession institute in HKSAR. Presently he is a member of the Faulty Advisory Committee of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong.
