This article will be published in Scott High School’s Website. You will present the findings of your research to the class in a Presentation with a Hand Made Visual Representation. Feature Article: You will FOCUS on how a particular architectural style influences or enhances your chosen city, i.e. what is the significance (historical, architectural, religious, etc.) of your building to the city. You must have the following information in your article: a short history of the city (focus on the 20th Century), some famous people from the city, the primary style of architecture of the building you choose, the definition of the style of architecture of the building you choose, the time periods it was built and the location of the building in your city. Use the following checklist to help you write your article: Use a lead that captures the reader Find and explain how the building affects your city. For example: “The Zwinger’s architectural style is Rococo, which helps it stand out among other buildings in Dresden. It was built in the 17th Century as a palace, and houses several museums today, as well as outdoor concerts and plays. It was built by…” Research and write well Clarify and interpret, give depth and meaning to the building (how was it built, why?) Leave the reader with something to think about Have a closing that connects back to the beginning Presentation: You will present your monument with the help of Hand Made visuals to the class beginning on December 10th. I will let you choose which day you will present, either December 10th or 11th. You will present your city using some form of technology, i.e. Google Earth, Google maps, a Prezi presentation OR a GoogleDrive presentation, showing your audience the following information: a short history of the city, some famous people from the city, the primary style of architecture, the definition of the style of architecture, choose ONE building to focus on, share the architect of that ONE building, the time periods it was built and the location of the building in your city. For ALL of your presentation NO paragraphs programs – you MUST use at least 44 font and , only 3 bullets per slide!! You must also have a Hand Made visual (see below). DO NOT READ TO US!! You MUST wear clothing befitting a presentation, i.e. nice pants, nice shirt, jacket (optional), NO JEANS or T-SHIRTS. The Rubric for the Presentation will follow. Visual: In order to best visualize the presentation of your city, you will MAKE – by hand – one of the following visuals: a modal, a drawing or a craft. This is also due on whichever day you present.
