My Position Paper
Does God really keep his promises? Is God really faithful? God is someone nobody
has been capable of understanding, God works in mysterious ways. God has made
many different promises at many different times, for example “Jeremiah 29:11 - For
I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for
disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” “Isaiah 40:29-31 He gives power to the weak
and strength to the powerless even youths will become weak and tired, and young men
will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will
soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and
not faint.” God also makes promises to specific people. He made promises to Moses,
David and Abraham, for example The Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country, you
people and your fathers household tot the land I will show you. “I will make you into a
great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and I will bless those
who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be
blessed through you.” Did God keep his promises?
There are three in here that really interest me:
1. I will make you a great nation.
2. I will make your name great.
3. All the peoples of the earth will be blessed through you.
Abraham meaning “Father of a multitude (of nations)” was the father of the “great”
nation, Israel. Abraham was not only known as the “father of nations” and “friend of
God” because he had so much faith and knew God would fulfill his promises, some
people believe he was one of the most faithful men alive. ." (James 2:23), (Gal. 3:1629; Rom. 4:11.)Did God end up giving Abraham his great nation? What is a great
nation? Is it a utopian land? Is it a powerful land? Is it a large land full of “good”
people? God chose Israel to be his chosen people. “(Deuteronomy 14:2)” God chose
Israel not because it was a big land filled with good people but because they were
small and weak. (1 Corinthians 1:27) God took something small and weak and made
them great. Israel is not big, Israel is not a utopian land, it is a small weak country
but God to this day has protected Israel. Israel has been attacked countless times but
still Israel remains strong. Now how does this connect with Abraham? Abraham
brought forth Isaac; and Isaac brought forth Jacob which later on became Israel.
(Genesis 35:10) it all connects back to Abraham, God is faithful to his word and will
stay faithful through time.
Israel Attacks:
1948 Arab coalition failed attempt.
1956 Egyptian failed attempt
1967 Syrian Egyptian Jordanian failed attempt
1973 Syrian Egyptian failed attempt
1982 Syrian failed attempt
2006 Hezbollah failed attempt.
God, the savoir of all humanity. There is no one like God, he has power, wisdom, love and he
never breaks a promise. (Proverbs 30:5) God made a promise to Abraham and I know he
didn’t break it. God said to Abraham “I will make your name great” (Genesis 12:2) Abraham
(as I mentioned before) had a lot of faith; he believed God would make his name great, and
that’s exactly what he did. Abraham was great during the time of Jesus and throughout the
entire bible. In the bible there are over 200 verses just about Abraham ex. Hebrews 11:1719, Luke 13:28, Galatians 4:22-31, Romans 4:1-22, James 2:23, Micah 7:20, Genesis 23:6-16,
Hebrews 11:17-18, Genesis 35:27 and Genesis 16:3 ( these are just a few examples.) He is
mentioned over and over again in the bible, everybody knew who he was, but still to this
day, millions of people know who father Abraham is. There are a lot of religions around the
world that believe that Abraham is the father of their faith. The three main ones are
Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. There are 7,181,557,803 people in the world today and of
those people over 2 billion are Christians, over 14.0 million are Jews and over 1.6 billion are
Islamic. Billions of people know who Abraham is, to this day he is really well known all
around the world. God kept his promise to Abraham just as he said he would. 
Jesus the most popular man to ever walk the earth! Jesus the wisest man to ever
walk the earth! Jesus is eternal. John 1:1,14 Jesus is before all things Col. 1:17 Jesus
claimed to be God John 8:24; 8:56-59 (see Exodus 3:14); John 10:30-33. Jesus is
worshiped. Matt. 2:2,11; 14:33; John 9:35-38; Heb. 1:6. Jesus is omnipresent. Matt.
28:20 Jesus is ALWAYS with us. Matt. 28:20 Jesus came to save. John 3:17; Luke
19:10 Jesus came to taste death for everyone. Heb. 2:9 Jesus came to give life. John
10:10,28 Jesus came to proclaim freedom for believers. Luke 4:18 Jesus died and
rose again. 1 Thess. 4:14 and most importantly Jesus said, "I AM the Way the Truth
and The Life.” John 14:6. Jesus effected everybody, helped everybody, loved
everybody but most importantly he BLESSED everybody that has ever walked on
the face of the earth. Now, what does that have to do with Abraham? Well the third
most important promise God made to Abraham was “All the peoples of the earth will
be blessed through you” (Genesis 12:2). If you look at the genealogy of Jesus it goes all
the way back to Abraham. When Abraham brought forth Isaac it was the start of the
chain all the way down to Jesus. http://www.complete-bible
genealogy.com/bible/kjv_mat_1.htm#17
God once again kept his promise to Abraham and now through Jesus we can ALL be
saved. John 14:6.
God is perfect and he promised to never leave nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
God will always be with you no matter where you go. God is a just, honest man and
he would never go back on promise. God is the same yesterday today and tomorrow
he is the Alpha and the Omega. God doesn’t care if he made his promise 10,000 years
ago or if he made the promise a couple second ago. God will stay true to his promise
and will never let you down.
The End Thank You For Reading!!!!!!! God Bless
