by students planning to sit for the CPA exam.
Time Commitment:
ACCT 4173 is an upper division course in your major. The time and effort required to successfully complete this
course are extensive. If you do not have at least 10 hours a week available to study for this course (read the
chapters twice, work problems at the end of the chapter, review notes, etc), you should consider adjusting your
schedule or taking the course at another time.
Assignments/Course Grade:
Your grade for this course will be based upon mastery of course concepts as demonstrated by successfully
completing chapter quizzes, chapter exercises and problems, current events writing assignments and exams.
For all writing assignments, check your grammar, punctuation, spelling, style, etc. I will look foremost for
content, but character and layout remain important. Especially, to the extent they hinder or aid a clear
presentation.
Skype:
If you are a Skype customer, I will conduct conversations with you via Skype. Send me a blackboard email
describing your questions, issues, et al and we will establish a mutually convenient time for the conversations.
Chapter Videos:
I offer my comments concerning each chapter, to supplement the material offered by the textbook authors, in a
series of videos. Each chapter video will approximate 10-15 minutes. Summarize your key-learnings concerning
each chapter video and submit the Word document to the assignments-video response link in blackboard and to
Turnitin (turnitin.com). The Turnitin enrollment password for the course is AudSp11 and the class ID is 3580684.
