The Rolling Stones returned to the London stage on Sunday night in
the first of five concerts to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
At least 13 people have died in the Pakistani city of Lahore after
consuming what authorities say was a "toxic" cough syrup.

The setting at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel on Tuesday represented the
height of refinement, but Alan Rusbridger, editor in chief of The Guardian,
reminded the black-tie crowd at the annual dinner for the Committee to
Protect Journalists of something it knew all too well: in many parts of the
globe, its profession is under murderous assault.

Talks are set to resume Monday in Cairo between Israeli and Egyptian
officials to further discuss the details of the Hamas-Israeli cease-fire,
which began to take hold last week, Hamas said in a statement.
