1. We went to SAACURH last weekend. It was very fun. I was in board room as well
of Alex. There was a lot of spirit.

i. Harvest Party Update
1. As of right now there are 62 volunteers for harvest party. Biscayne has 8
showroom and Palmetto has 15. I am closing apps after this meeting. Let your
council know that I am closing them tonight so they can get last minute people.
Harvest party is tomorrow. Please dress kid friendly. Also tell people you know
who are volunteering to also dress kid friendly. All out fits have to be knee length
we do send people home. We will give the show rooms candy so they do not need
to buy any candy as well as placards that lets people know this is a stop. We will
also hand out routes for the tour guides to follow.
a. Osprey – do we have to dress up?

b. Glades – some my council members applied and they haven’t gotten back
an email for confirmation. Will they get an email?
i. Yes, I will email them all tonight.
c. West Lake – where do we sign up?
i. The RHA website. Type in google FGCU RHA and the link should
pop up. The application is the first link on the website.

1. Don’t forget the FGCU fight song is still going on. To be entered to win a pizza
party you have to post a video of you singing the FGCU Fight Song on any social
media. The tags are #HAILYEAH and #FGCUSG. This ends the end of the
semesters.

6. Area Council Reports
a. Groves
i. We just had our 1st event the alphabet party. A really good turnout. First it was RA’s and
then they went to get their residents. Gave out 15 t-shirts. A week from today is our
tailgate. It will be with all the sports team. Next event is freeze tag. November 18th from
8pm-9pm between P and S.
1. Gardens – you said by the rock?
a. It is by Alico Arena
2. Everglades – do you need a certain amount of people?
a. Your president should have a volunteer list where people sign up. If you
want to help but your council didn’t put money in, I will definitely email
you the sheet.
b. Gardens
i. Our BBQ event was pretty good. About 50 people came. Today we talked about our
cupcake wars bill. We’re pushing it back to November 8th. We’re putting on a bonfire in
December. We’re gonna hand out our novelty mugs. We’re going to get drawstring bags
and t-shirts which we would hand out during the breakfast.
c. Glades
i. Yesterday at our meeting, we made the final preparations for our Halloween event. It is
now advertised around SoVi and WLV. Trick or treating is from 6-8, party at the water
front is from 8-10. There will also be a bonfire. 200 hot dogs and hamburgers. The
costume contest is a $50 Gift card. 2nd and 3rd is a $25 gift card. We’re looking at 2 t-shirt
designs next meeting.
d. Biscayne
i. We didn’t have a meeting because of Spooktacular. Yesterday we had our RA costume
contest and it turned out pretty well.
e. Palmetto
i. We also didn’t have a meeting because of Spooktacular. Yesterday we had our door
decorating contest. 1st got a $50 Publix gift card. Now we are working on T’was the
Week before Finals.
f. Everglades
i. We also did not have a meeting due to Spooktacular. We are still doing our Man vs
Zombie event is still going on. Our booth is about trivia.

i. So we also didn’t have a meeting due to scary movie night. Today we had our Murder
Mystery dinner. We had a huge turnout. We were able to feed everyone. Tomorrow we’re
doing reverse trick or treating.

i. We passed a bill for a family feud night in spring. Spooktacular was really fun. Most of
our council went. We’re doing a medical tent for Everglades Man vs Zombie event. What
to do if you’re trapped in a river or car for example.
i. West Lake
i. We actually passed a bill called Sunday Funday. It is a football party for Eagle’s v
Cowboys. We will have chicken, fruit and veggies platters with chips and dip. November
8th at 8:30pm were in the process of designing the sweat shirts. We have some colors.

T’was the Week before Finals
Description: Finals can be a very stressful time for all students, especially first-year students. Palmetto Hall
Area Council wants to provide an opportunity for Palmetto residents to relax and do different activities
before the stressful week of finals. We plan to host one activity a day for the entire week before finals.
They range from low key craft nights to an outdoor field day. The event culminates in Java Jam, which is an
open mic night for students to express themselves in whatever art form they choose. T’was the Week
Before Finals is an annual tradition in Palmetto Hall and this year’s Area Council wants to make it bigger
and better than ever before for our residents. We cannot fund this program ourselves due to our budget
already being allocated towards other programming this semester. We intend to use coupons and save
money wherever we can, however, this budget will allow us to fully support seven different programs.
Although this programming is intended for Palmetto Hall residents, we not only open our event to
everyone else, we also expect others to attend because many of our events are hosted in the lobby and
have hundreds of other SoVi students walking through the lobby at any given time. We would be more
than happy to advertise in other halls/areas if desired.

 Glades – I think it’ll be a good destresser at night
 Groves – I think it’ll be great. My concern is the painting and mocktails because I think they will
need more money.
 Everglades – I personally think they should do this in the lobby if they want people to come.
Blake said a lot people walk through palmetto.
 Palmetto – for painting and mock tails, Kaila said Zachary will be teaching the painting. The
movie has to be in the classroom because that’s the only place to get resnet. Java jam is always in
the classroom as well. Plus we have a lot of posters so people will always see. Each day is being
taken on by a different member. Whoever is taking on their on event is deciding where to hold it.
 Groves – withdraw
 Palmetto – it’s going to be really fun. I’ve personally seen what they’re doing and it’s very
exciting. Mailbox surprise was a huge hit. Craft night is origami and paint your own cork board.
The mugs you paint will be used at the movie and java jam.

8. Announcements
a. Groves – don’t forget the tail gate. It’s for everyone, not just NLV. Pops bbq, kona ice, and
popcorn. It’ll hopefully be a good time from 7pm-9pm.
b. Liz – every Thursday they will send out texts to see what machines are broken. And Monday
they will fix it. So basically they will check every week. RA apps are open, info sessions just
happened in Palmetto and Everglades.
i. Palmetto – are you speaking on behalf of just nlv?
1. Nope all villages
ii. Groves – will I still have to attend the info sessions if I did last year and the RA classes?
1. Yes. The information this year is different. And the RA class no longer a thing.
When you get hired for recruitment you go through something similar.
c. Glades – please come to the Halloween event. We want his to be a traditional event within nlv.
d. Danielle – if you see any SigEps on campus stop by to their table. They are selling bracelets to
help their brother who just found out he has a brain tumor. They are raising money to help with
hospital bills and treatment. Just Monday they raised over $300.
i. West Lake – how long are they going to be selling them for?
