IDENTIFY CLIENT INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS BY CONFERRING WITH STAFF, ANALYZING OPERATIONS, EVALUATING FORMATS, INPUT/OUTPUT REQUIREMENTS, AND PERFOMANCE IMPROVE CURRENT SYSTEMS BY STUDYING PRACTICES, PROCEDURES AND PROBLEMS, DESIGNS AND/OR FACILITATES THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MODIFICATIONS, PROVIDES RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING THE PURCHASE OF HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE AND STANDARDIZES THE USE OF COMMERCIAL SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE, TELEPHONE SYSTEMS, COPIERS AND FAXES MAINTAIN A HELP DESK, TELEPHONE ADVISORY CAPABILITY, SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS LIBRARY, AND PROVIDES TRAINING TO STAFF REGARDING SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS 4. DEVELOP METHODS THAT ENSURE EFFICIENT AND COST EFFECTIVE OPERATIONS 5. COLLECT, ANALYZE AND SUMMARIZE INFORMATION AND TRENDS, AND PREPARE TECHNICAL DATA REPORTS UTILIZING THE CAPABILITIES OF SOFTWARE AVAILABLE TO THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAIN PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE BY ATTENDING EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS, REVIEWING PROFESSIONAL PUBLICATIONS, ESTABLISHING PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL NETWORKS AND BY PARTICIPATING IN PORFESSIONAL SOCIETIES OR AFFILITATIONS EFFICIENTLY TRACK AND COORDINATE ROUTINE TASKS TRACK AND COORDINATE ROUTINE TASKS MAINTAIN PROFESSIONALISM AT ALL TIMES TO ENSURE SERVICE QUALITY AND INTEGRITY CONTRIBUTE TO TEAM EFFORT BY ACCOMPLISHING TASKS AS NEEDED OR REQUESTED REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Job Qualifications Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, financial management, or a related field; Graduate level education and/or degree desirable Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred Experience: Minimum three (3) years’ progressively responsible experience in information systems management, preferably in a health care organization; education may be substituted for some, but not all experience Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of automated systems, programming and operation Ability to apply management and supervisory skills and techniques Effective communication, verbally and in writing with co-workers, patients and the public Ability to plan and implement teaching/training programs Ability to gather, analyze and process information for accurate and responsible decision making Ability to listen and evaluate component parts of communications in order to reach accurate and objective conclusions Ability to understand and evaluate theoretical concepts and translate them into clear directions and course of action Position requires ability to explain procedures and processes in oral and written form Ability to apply mathematical formulas required for computations Demonstrate supervisory authority for employed staff by scheduling hours of work, leave approval, performance evaluation, and ability to implement disciplinary measures Effectively recommends hiring and termination, and assures these actions are in compliance with organization personnel policies and procedures Provides instruction to staff for updating/sharing information, correcting errors and/or implementation of procedures Will maintain a high level of confidentiality with personal data regarding employees, families and patients Ability to operate a motor vehicle, which requires a valid driver’s license, and clearance for unrestricted automobile insurance coverage Desire and ability to serve the community and its residents Share in and contribute to MVCHS mission, vision, and goals FINAL: 01/22/2014 3 Working Conditions and Physical Demands Work is performed in an office, medical/dental clinic, and occasional outdoors environment Moderate physical activity with handling of average weight objects up to 25 pounds Sitting, standing or walking for more than 4 hours per day May be exposed to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions Qualifications for Employment Pre-employment physical examination CPR & First Aid Certification Background Investigation Drug Testing – Initial and Random EMPLOYEE/SUPERVISORY REVIEW I have read this job description and understand the requirements of the job and the work to be performed.
