FINAL EXAM REVIEW
HONORS ENGLISH 11 – 2011-12
Review all class notes given for the historical background to each literary age. Review all author background sheets,
discussion questions, quizzes, and literary devices specific to the stories. Know primary characters, plots, and themes for each
story. Be able to recognize specific genres and their characteristics (Frame story, letters, chivalric romance, ballads, drama,
tragedy, gothic novel, dark satire, etc.) Be able to match descriptions to characters and/or authors. Be able to recognize
definitions and/or examples of literary devices. Be able to identify a historical period to its type of literature, literary themes,
and social issues emphasized during that period. Remember that all class notes can be found on the website.
