Rogers’ Chocolates to open new retail store at Uptown in September
July 16, 2013 - Rogers’ Chocolates Ltd. is expanding with a new retail location at Uptown. This
is the ninth storefront for the company that makes its premiere-quality chocolates just five
kilometers from Uptown in their 20,000 square foot Saanich factory.
“Our new store at Uptown is part of Rogers’ Chocolates retail growth strategy,” said Larry
Sullivan, president and CEO, Rogers’ Chocolates. “We see tremendous potential to reach a
broad range of customers here.”
Sullivan and the team at Rogers’ Chocolates saw an opportunity at Uptown to complement their
eight existing Rogers’s Chocolates retail locations. They include, in Victoria: Government Street,
Oak Bay, Sidney and the Roger’s Chocolates factory outlet in Saanich, three Vancouver stores:
Granville Island, Gastown and Park Royal as well as one location in Whistler Village.
The more than 600 square foot location on Uptown’s high-traffic Town Plaza is similar in size to
Rogers’ Chocolates on Oak Bay Avenue. It will carry their full line of chocolate products as well
as scooped ice cream and ice cream bars.
The first Rogers' Chocolates were made in Victoria in 1885 and in the 128 years since, the
company has developed a world-renowned product line and brand that’s popular with everyone
from locals to the British royalty. Throughout this success, Rogers’ Chocolates has remained an
independent company that nurtures tradition as it innovates.
“Rogers’ Chocolates is such an important part of Victoria’s cultural history and has a brand that
truly represents quality,” said Roberta Ferguson, general manager, Uptown. “We are delighted
to have this store opening on our Town Plaza, it is sure to attract a lot of attention from
Uptown’s visitors.”
Construction on the new store at Uptown is scheduled to begin soon. It will be transformed to
create the traditional look and feel synonymous with the Rogers’ Chocolates brand. Rogers’
Chocolates Uptown is expected to open in early September.
About Rogers’ Chocolates: Rogers' Chocolates is steeped in tradition and a rich history that

heritage storefront on Government Street.
Today the company has eight retail stores, several hundred wholesale outlets and ships to more
than 50 countries around the world through a thriving online and mail-order business.
