• “Gain and to retain each students’ full attention throughout the

following “African Wild Lion Lessons”, by having the students’ use

either a “Computer” or “iPad”, along with the “Internet” and the

classroom “Smart Board” technology.”

• “Provide the students’ with an interactive educational program to

fully utilize their innate “Multiple Intelligences” while affording

them the opportunity to refine their twenty first century skills.”

Purpose of the Project: Working Together We Can Save the Wild Lions

Empower each student to become active in conservation and to join the ongoing efforts to positively influence the desired outcome which is to

save the endangered wild African Lions.

4.

Facilitate and mentor each other as they collaborate and brain storm to develop creative strategies which may be implemented by African conservation groups to save the “Wild Savannah” and all of its

5

The Cooperative Group Research Project Procedure;

The classroom practitioner will divide the students into the 6 groups which

represent the remaining African countries where wild Lions are still known

to live free. Each student will present a section of their group country

presentation.

2. The duration of the research project will be 4 weeks or 20 school days.

3. Each of the four group members will encompass a mixed array of skills and

abilities based their past and current performance in the related subject

areas.

4. The individual groups will work cooperatively and independently as

required to complete their comprehensive “Wild Lion” and “Wild Lion

Conservation Research Project and their groups class Power Point

Presentation.

5. Each of the 6 groups may use all available sanctioned resources including

using the approved wild life conservation groups working in their

respective countries to secure the specific human and environmental

issues.

6. Each group will incorporate their related counties pictures, data and

information into a comprehensive Power Point Presentation which will be

presented using our classrooms Smart Board.

7. After all of our group presentations have been completed we will add them

onto our schools Wiki so that we can share our results.

6

Power Point or Key Note Presentation Data and Information:

1. Estimated total number of the remaining “Wild Lions”.

2. Estimated human population.

3. The current size in square miles of the remaining wild savannah.

4. The main issues related to the current “Lion and their peer wild life’s

continued decline”.

5. What global corporations are manufacturing and selling the poisons to the

African countries which are then used to kill the “Wild Lions”? We

will contact these companies to request they cease the sale of these poisons.

6. If we had a yearly “Save the Wild Fund Raising Drive ” how many new park

rangers could be hired to protect the remaining “Wild Lions” in your

assigned country?

7. What can we do now as global citizens to collaborate and brain storm with

the local conservation teams and the local population in Africa, to develop

creative strategies to maintain the “Wild Savannah and all of its residents

from becoming extinct like the “Barbary Lions”.

8. Your presentations must include complete qualitative and quantifiable

information, data analysis, charts along with supporting pertinent,

pictures, Websites, and iPad Apps used to support your groups

collaborative research Smart Board presentations.
