HOW PARENTS CAN COMMUNICATE
WITH THE TEACHER?
1. Daily Communication Note: (Example provided
below)
In order to ensure communication between home and school
we utilize a Daily Communication Note. Everyday your child
will come home with this note in his/her folder. This note
recaps your child day at school. We encourage you to review
the day’s events with your child. Please check, sign and send
this note back to school in your child’s folder everyday. The
Daily Note is the best place to write any notes to the teacher,
since the children’s folders are checked everyday when they
arrive at school.
Also, if your child receives Speech therapy, the SpeechLanguage pathologist writes her notes in the back of the
sheet.
2. E Mail: papa.raksha@ccsd59.org
We check our e-mail daily, but please do not e-mail us if you
need an immediate response as we often check our mail in the
morning or after school.
3. Phone: Please call me at 847-472-3835.
Please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as
possible.
VOLUNTEERS
We need parent volunteers to help us throughout
the school year. There are a couple ways you can help
Play Dough Volunteers
Please sign up to volunteer to make play dough. It is a wonderful
fine motor activity and new batches will be needed monthly. The
following is the recipe:
o 2 cups of water
o 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
o 2 cups of flour
o 4 tablespoons of cream of tartar
o 1 cup of salt
o Food coloring for bright colors (approx. ½ bottle)
Combine all ingredients in medium saucepan on stovetop. Cook,
stirring over medium heat until mixture is thickened. Cool slightly, put
in plastic bag.
Mystery Reader Volunteers
We are looking for ‘Mystery Readers’. A mystery reader is anyone special mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, uncles, aunts etc. The ‘mystery’ is the
children don’t know you are coming to read to our class.
The ‘Mystery Reader’ signs up for a Friday and bring a book and read to
the class. Please feel free to sign up for more than one date!
