Includes cut-off averages, prerequisite courses, scholarship and residence info, campus tours and much more. Use it to compare universities using the above criteria. Don’t forget the small print! Common Admission Criteria High School Diploma 40 hrs. Community Service Passing of the gr.10 Literacy Test, or OLC Six Grade 12 U or M level courses: – Specific prerequisites for each program Need Community Service Hours??? Please see the following areas for opportunities: Community Service Showcase (outside the Guidance office) T.V. screens O’Neill website Community Service Hours Bring documentation of hours into Mrs. Gosse in the Guidance Office as soon as you have the hours completed Keep a copy of the completed hours for your own record in case of a discrepancy Plan to have hours completed and recorded by end of December 2015 Hours must be submitted to Guidance by April 15, 2016 Requirements For Ontario Universities Minimum of Six Grade 12, U or M credits including any prerequisite subjects and O.S.S.D. Some schools may specify the number of M credits allowed Specific subject requirements vary from university to university, even in the same subject area Some programs have additional requirements/deadlines Additional Information About Grades High school sends grades of years 3 and 4 Use of year 3 marks for admission is much more common than in the past Entrance average calculation can vary from school to school. Ask the liaison reps. Choosing Programs DON’T FRET ABOUT FINALITY… Don’t think the application you submit locks you in for life! There is still lots of flexibility ahead. You can: – Change your university and program choices as late as – – – – February Change your university program after you start Change which university you go to (e.g. you can start at Guelph and end up at UOIT) Take time off and then go back. Become a part-time student, take course online, or at night if you need to work. Do your research and feel good about your choices! University Application Process Apply online to OUAC, not to the universities. The centre processes applications and acceptances. Students applying to 3 universities pay fee of $150. Students may apply to additional universities for a fee of $50 for each.
