Get Healthy Now Fitness Challenge
The Get Healthy Now Fitness Challenge is a new and exciting way to get the personal guidance, motivation and rewards you need

Get Healthy Now is offering Weigh to Go (WTG), a 12-week class that includes measurements, weigh-ins, a journal and weekly tips

Jan. 10. Cost is $10. Weigh to Go II is a maintenance phase for those who have completed WTG. Belknap: Wednesdays at 12:45

Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and miniMarathon training
Get Healthy Now offers the GHN Running Club for UofL employees to help them train for the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon &
miniMarathon. We have two runs a week where a fitness specialist helps you with your training. We follow the Jewish Hospital
Sports Medicine Healthy Lifestyle Training Program, the official training program of the Derby Festival. JHSM will provide program

Take control of your life; learn practical stress solutions
This "hands-on" workshop from Get Healthy Now teaches proven stress management techniques, including visualization, deep
breathing, biofeedback and life balance. You will learn to balance your life and increase your productivity. Facilitator Paula Kommor
is trained by the Harvard Mind/Body Medical Institute. Sessions will be in room 113, College of Education and Human Development,

Group Fitness Classes
Once again the Intramural Department will offer group fitness classes at the SAC and HSC fitness center beginning Jan. 22.
HOWEVER, we have teamed with Campus Health Services and Get Healthy Now to offer yoga classes on Belknap Campus. Classes
will begin Tuesday, Jan. 22, and will be held at the new Campus Health Services multi-purpose room (located between the SAC &
Houchens Building.) For a complete schedule of classes please go to http://www.campuslife.louisville.edu/intramurals and follow the

Smoking cessation classes use the Cooper-Clayton Method, a safe and effective way to help people stay smoke-free for the rest of
their lives. It is a comprehensive behavioral smoking cessation program that is science-based and uses proven methods, including

Get Healthy Now discount on paystubs
Beginning January 2008 the discount on health insurance for Get Healthy Now participants will be listed as a refund on your
paystub. The reduction will appear above the line that shows your health premium on your paystub. The amount refunded will be

UofL supports Champions 4 Her
Join us at the women's basketball game against Marquette Jan. 23, 7 p.m., Freedom Hall, as we kick off our participation in the
Champions 4 Her communitywide initiative to increase support for women and women's health issues in Kentucky. A June 21
walk/run will raise money for 10 local groups, including UofL's Women's Center and Women's Athletics. Learn more at

Choose Your Path
Gather your teammates! Get Healthy Now will kick off "Choose Your Path to Your Champion" beginning April 1. Teams of 4-10
participants will designate one captain. Each participant will select a weekly cardio goal to make up the overall team goal. This
program will conclude June 21 at the Champions 4 Her Walk, Run & Festival. Special awards will be given on the day of the festival.

National Start! Walking Day is a campaign from the American Heart Association that encourages all Americans to make walking part

Weigh to Go
During this 12-week class you will learn helpful tips for weight loss, workouts and nutrition. Measurements will be taken the first
and last week along with weekly weigh-ins and brief motivational meetings. Belknap will begin Jan. 13, noon, Room 15, Crawford
Gym. HSC will begin Jan. 15, noon, Room 2023, Nursing School 2023. There is a $10 fee that covers the cost of a diary. If you have

YMCA to let UofL employees work out for free while Get Health Now is closed for break
Between Dec. 26 and Jan. 4, while Get Healthy Now facilities are closed, the YMCA of Greater Louisville invites all UofL employees
to work out for free. To take advantage of this opportunity, all you need is a current UofL employee I.D. Should your spouse,
immediate family member or out-of-town guest join you, there will be a $5 per person per day fee with picture I.D. Locate a YMCA

Benefits deadline extended to Dec. 9
UofL will provide an employer contribution for 2009 qualifying adult health coverage. If you need to make a change to your benefit
elections for 2009 please go to http://ulink.louisville.edu, log in, click Faculty/Staff tab, select Benefits Summary and change the
date to read 1/1/09. Verify the elected plan and covered dependents taking care to change the date to 1/1/09. Report errors

Take control of your life and learn practical stress solutions in this four-week workshop from Get Healthy Now. Learn proven stress
management techniques: visualization, deep breathing, biofeedback and life balance. Leave this workshop with techniques to
balance your life and increase your productivity. Facilitator Paula Kommor is trained by the Harvard Mind/Body Medical Institute.
Starting Jan. 14, the workshop will meet in Room 113, College of Education and Human Development, Wednesdays, noon-1 p.m.

2009 Triple Crown of Running and Kentucky Derby Festival miniMarathon and Marathon, etc. We will primarily follow the Jewish
Sports Medicine Healthy Lifestyle Training Program. Our first run/walk together will take place Monday, Jan. 5, 5:30 p.m., at

Watch for health, dental and vision benefit ID cards
You will only receive new ID cards for dental or vision if you made a change to your plan during open enrollment or if you signed up
as a new enrollee during open enrollment. If you have a PCA plan through Humana, please keep the card you had in 2008. It will
be valid in 2009. If you have EPO or PPO through Humana, you will receive a new card. If you have a health flexible spending
account in 2008 and you signed up again for 2009, please keep the Benny card you used in 2008. You will use this card in 2009. If
you signed up for a new health flexible spending account for 2009, you will receive a new card. You should receive cards prior to
