Position Description Summary:
This position reports to the Director, Training & Accreditation for AmerisourceBergen Drug Company.
The E-Learning Designer and Training, will primarily work with Marketing and other internal subject
matter experts (SMEs) to create web based training courses and job aids, etc for our sales force.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Uses rapid eLearning authoring tools such as Captivate, Articulate, and Flash to create interactive,
SCORM compliant web based training (WBT) products.
Designs and develops dynamic instructional interactions and simulations to create interactive, engaging
course content
Translates needs analysis and functional specifications into detailed course designs.
Works with subject matter experts to design and develop audience-appropriate, clear, and concise
training content.
Ensures that the training materials meet the learning and performance objectives.
Writes and edits audio voice-over scripts for e-learning.
Arranges for internal SME audio recordings or for professional audio voiceovers, as needed.
Performs basic audio editing of internally recorded audio.
Synchronizes audio files with e-learning content.
Performs basic video editing for inclusion of video clips in e-learning courses.
Creates job aids as needed.
Creates tests and assessments within the LMS assessment center to validate/certify knowledge of elearning content.
Performs quality assurance checks on training courses that have been developed.
Arranges for internal pilot group testing of new e-learning courses.
Works on multiple projects concurrently, monitors activity, progress, and time related to project
development.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Education Requirements:
Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing,
computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor’s
degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum
of five (5) experience in designing and developing e-learning training materials and instructional design.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements:
1. Rapid e-learning authoring tools, such as Adobe E-Learning Suite (including Captivate, SoundBooth,
Flash, Photoshop, etc) or Articulate Presenter
2. Strong technical expertise and experience required:
3. Designing and creating e-learning training and other forms of training
4. Microsoft PowerPoint, including custom animation
5. SCORM specification for content integration with an LMS or other delivery platform
6. Demonstrated working knowledge of other Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel)
7. Technical aptitude to learn new applications.
Instructional Design
· General knowledge of adult learning models and instructional design.
· Experience in online course/training design and development.
· Experience in creating content outlines, story boards and web-based training modules.
