Odanadi UK Job Description Role: Volunteer Project Officer and Administrator Time: 2-3 days per week Location: Largely home based, preferably London Period: To be discussed (preferably at least 6 months) Duties: Wide range of general administrative duties covering project tracking and reporting, finance, social media, events, web-site maintenance, organisation of Trustee meetings Odanadi Odanadi believes that no human is for sale. We rescue and rehabilitate people affected by trafficking. We bring traffickers to justice and empower vulnerable communities. Odanadi UK was founded in 2007 by Patricia Young, who was inspired by Odanadi during a work trip to India. Back in Britain she contacted a number of former Odanadi volunteers, friends and colleagues and, what began as an informal committee, has since blossomed into a fully functioning registered UK charity, with a pool of regular monthly donors, operating a raft of regular fundraising and awareness raising activities. We support Odanadi India, based in Mysore, who rescue and rehabilitate individuals who have been trafficked, prostituted, enslaved or abused. Odanadi India offer them a home, counselling, an education and career opportunities. But it doesn't stop there: Odanadi's education, awareness and empowerment programmes prevent trafficking in some of the region's most vulnerable communities. We also work to raise awareness in the UK and support UK-based anti-trafficking projects, including Marginal Voices. Volunteer Project Officer and Administrator We currently require a volunteer project officer and administrator to work two to three days per week. The role is primarily home-based but will require regular meetings with trustees and other volunteers. We welcome candidates who are: Enthusiastic, well-motivated and determined 1 Interested in human trafficking and development Capable of independent working Able to pay attention to detail Comfortable with IT, including Word, Excel and social media The scope of the work is broad and covers: Maintain Control and Reporting of Projects Liaise with Odanadi Indai Liaise with Marginal Voices Prepare monthly project progress reports prepare monthly financial reports Highlight issues to Trustees Trustee Meetings Organise dates, venue and distribution of documents Liaise with Chair, Secretary and Trustees to develop agenda Draft minutes and agree with Chair Events Liaise with Trustees to agree format, date and timing of events Support detailed organisation of events, including: o Location o Tickets o Finances o Publicity Social Media and Communications Support Odanadi's presence on o our own web-site o Facebook o Twitter Liaise with Trustees, volunteers and India to generate materials Manage development of regular newsletter Fundraising Support fundraising initiatives, including events, bids to foundations Track receipts of donations Maintain supporter care, including thank you letters Support the Odanadi flagship fundraising event "Yoga Stops Traffick" Attend External Events on Behalf of Odanadi UK For example: 2 o o Human Tafficking Foundation Salvation Army Finance General support to the Treasurer Process payments and staff expenses Reconcile bank statements on a monthly basis Volunteer Admin Respond to volunteer enquiries, including liaising with Trustees / India Maintain record of volunteers International Liaise with Odanadi India for general non-project matters Liaise with international network of Odanadi support organisations 3
