Odanadi
Odanadi believes that no human is for sale. We rescue and rehabilitate people affected by
trafficking. We bring traffickers to justice and empower vulnerable communities.
Odanadi UK was founded in 2007 by Patricia Young, who was inspired by Odanadi during a work trip
to India. Back in Britain she contacted a number of former Odanadi volunteers, friends and
colleagues and, what began as an informal committee, has since blossomed into a fully functioning
registered UK charity, with a pool of regular monthly donors, operating a raft of regular fundraising
and awareness raising activities.
We support Odanadi India, based in Mysore, who rescue and rehabilitate individuals who have been
trafficked, prostituted, enslaved or abused. Odanadi India offer them a home, counselling, an
education and career opportunities. But it doesn't stop there: Odanadi's education, awareness and
empowerment programmes prevent trafficking in some of the region's most vulnerable
communities.
We also work to raise awareness in the UK and support UK-based anti-trafficking projects, including
Marginal Voices.
