Anushya Raghuram - 1st choice: VP Campus Relations, 2nd choice: VP Industry Relations I am a Junior Chemical And Biomolecular Engineering Major at Georgia Tech. I was brought up in Hudson, New Hampshire, and I have always been part of a club during each part of my life so I love working with a team! I believe I will work well with a multi-cultural and diverse team. I enjoy reading books about World War II, watching classic movies with my family and friends, and trying all types of world cuisines. I live by the quote said by Will Smith in the "Pursuit of Happiness." The quote is "You got a dream, you got to protect it. People can’t do something themselves, they want to tell you that you can’t do it. You want something ? Got get it. Period." I hope to live by this motto as VP of Campus Relations or Industry Relations. Vijayeetha Ramesh - 1st choice: VP Membership, 2nd choice: Secretary I am a 3rd year Chemical Engineering major and have been in SWE since I joined as a freshman. I have participated in many outreach and social events, and I have attended both regional and national conferences. I think SWE is a wonderful resource that has helped me grow myself professionally and I want to be able to share that experience with others. I want to run for VP of Membership because from my executive board experiences in other organizations, an organization is only as strong as its member base. I want to be able to increase bonding among all the members outside of our industry meetings, and in turn bring in new people who want to be a part of our tight-knit support network. Madeline Johnson - 1st choice: VP Campus Relations, 2nd choice: VP Membership I am a second year electrical-engineering major here at Tech and have a passion for not only engineering, but also for WOMEN in engineering. I am a strong leader and do so by means encouragement and promoting group success. I want to see the female population at Tech reach a point of overall confidence and for us to be able to utilize the best resource we're not using: each other! I want us to realize that we can succeed at anything if we put our minds together and utilize the great opportunities we have as SWEsters! Hannah Chen - 1st choice: Secretary, 2nd choice: VP Industry Relations Hi, my name is Hannah Chen and I am a 1st year Industrial & Systems Engineering major running for SWE Executive Secretary! SWE is important to me because I have really found my niche within this organization during my freshman year. I am currently the High School Outreach Chair and I would’ve never imagined myself holding a leadership position and organizing large events during my freshman year. But through SWE, I’ve been able to pursue my passion by working with very talented and hardworking girls to organize SWE events! Being a SWE Executive Secretary means that I will have the wonderful opportunity to use my leadership and organizational skills to help Georgia Tech female engineering majors find their niche during their college years. After all, we’re at Georgia Tech! SWE can do that! Jacqui Green - 1st choice: President, 2nd choice: VP Campus Relations Hi! My name is Jacqui Green and I am a 3rd year Mechanical Engineering major originally from New Jersey. I’ve been involved with SWE since my junior year of high school and have served in the GT SWE chapter as Little SWE chair, VP Outreach and am currently the chapter President (since January 2015). I am re-running for my position as President since I have a lot of great ideas for the chapter that I’ve already helped to implement and want to continue to implement and improve over the next year. My goals for the position include increasing membership, increasing the SWE community and bond between members, increasing SWE’s relationships with GT Faculty and GT SWE Alumni, diversifying our sponsors so that we can bring companies to meetings that are relevant to all majors, and increasing SWE’s presence and brand on campus. I’ve worked closely with my executive board this semester to start a lot of great events and therefore I know a great deal about each of the executive positions and have a solid foundation for the future. I’ve also served as SWE Region D Collegiate Representative which has given me a lot of contacts outside of GT SWE and avenues to help grow our chapter. I’ve also held four internships since my freshmen year (3 with Lockheed Martin and 1 with the Department of Navy). I love SWE and I love mentoring young aspiring engineers and helping them to plan and grow their future. In my free time I like to go to Piedmont Park, cook, hike, sometimes I like working out, cleaning/re-organizing my apartment, hanging out with friends, traveling (I’ve been to 14 different countries), trying new restaurants, and meeting new people! Anika Dhamodharan - 1st choice: VP Technical Development Hi SWEeties! My name is Anika Dhamodharan and I am a 3rd year Industrial Engineer at Georgia Tech. I currently serve as VP of Industry Relations, and have had an amazing experience this past semester serving on the Executive Board. I am passionate about giving back and serving the Georgia Tech campus and have served as EWB Nicaragua Program Project Manager, ISYE Ambassador, and by being an RA. I’m qualified for this position because I have proven that I can drive results. During this semester serving as VP of Industry Relations I increased sponsorship by 40% in less than two months, and helped secure our top two annual sponsors. I was able to reestablish relationships with companies that we had overlooked during the past couple of years, and even started sponsorship for the Fall semester. I have shown through this role that I need little direction to make big changes in our organization, and this is why I will succeed in delivering high-quality engineering programs for women here at Tech. Ida Mizani - 1st choice: VP Campus Relations, 2nd choice: VP Technical Development Ida Mizani is a first year Industrial and Systems Engineering student from Alpharetta, GA. Upon arriving to Georgia Tech, Ida believed that being involved on campus was one of the top things she wanted to get out of her college experience. She is an active member of her sorority and also joined SWE and currently holds the position of Corporate Connections Chair in the Industry Relations committee. Ida holds various positions outside of SWE as well, including Marketing Officer for Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), Finance Chair for the 2015 Women's Leadership Conference, Logistics Committee Member for the Freshman Student Government Association, and more. With these positions, she believes that she can contribute most to SWE if chosen for VP of Campus Relations given her desire to branch out on campus and her current campus involvement as a freshman student. She would like to increase the presence of SWE on campus by developing greater correspondence with different organizations on campus, faculty, and more, and also by speaking at different events and meetings about SWE's purpose and what SWE does for women in engineering. She would like to positively represent SWE as VP of Campus Relations to each and every student on campus and through this aspires to increase SWE membership and ultimately improve SWE as a whole at both a university and a national level. Lindsey Robirds - 1st choice: VP Campus Relations Lindsey is a second year electrical engineering student, she is the current VP of Campus Relations and is applying for this same role again. She already has a year of experience under her belt which she believes will make it much easier to transition into the next school year with ease. She have worked closely with Jacqui this past year in organizing all of SWE's new events such as Professor luncheon, GetFIT classes, Intramural team, and more. Her goal is to continue to reach out and form a relationship with other organizations on campus so that the girls active in SWE this semester get the most opportunities possible through their membership with our organization. Fariha Islam - 1st choice: VP Campus Relations, 2nd choice: Secretary My name is Fariha Islam and I am a third year Civil Engineering major. This is also my third year in SWE and I absolutely love it. I am currently one of the Awards Banquet Chair and have also served as the Tea With the Dean Chair, Social Chair, and VP of Membership. I am running for the VP of Campus Relations and Secretary. I want to be VP of Campus Relations to develop and grow our relationships with other professional societies such as NSBE and SHPE. I have many friends in NSBE who have approached me about collaborating on events since they know of my long-term involvement in SWE. As SWEsters we have developed relationships within SWE, but I think it's time for us to have a larger presence on campus and form stronger connections with others. Jessica Pfeffer - 1st choice: VP Industry Relations I am a third year Aerospace Engineering student and have been actively involved in SWE for three years. I held the executive position of SWE Treasurer this past year and was able to learn about and contribute so much to SWE. I attend all weekly SWE meetings, and most outreach, and other SWE professional and community events. I have attended regional and national conferences and have had a great experience and learned new information and ideas about SWE as a whole. I am also involved in the Georgia Tech marching band, Tau Beta Sigma band service sorority, the Grand Challenges Living/Learning community, and a few other organizations and opportunities on campus. I am applying for the positions of VP of Industry Relations. In this position I would use my past executive board experience as SWE Treasurer to maintain and improve GT SWE’s relationship with companies. I would try and get new companies to present and new presentation topics based on what members would like to hear. In this position I would also like to continue an alumni database. As a SWE officer I would like to increase membership retention, communication in the organization, and campus involvement. I have had a great experience with SWE so far, and would like to get more involved and contribute more towards an organization I love being a part of! Alyssa Jackson - 1st choice: VP Outreach, 2nd choice: VP Administration Hi! My name is Alyssa Jackson and I am a third year biomedical engineering major here at Georgia Tech. I have been involved with SWE for two years now and I absolutely love this organization. Outreach is my passion. I have worked as an academic mentor and tutor for various K-12 schools throughout metro Atlanta for the past three years. This experience propelled me to apply for my first SWE position as the Little SWE chair. Through this position, I was able to establish Little SWE clubs at two new schools. Aside from Little SWE, I have planned major events such as SWE Georgia Tech Day. For this event, I had to organize an event for 80 middle school students to visit GT and learn about engineering. I was responsible for planning the activities, coordinating volunteers, and managing the schedule. This semester I was able to actually take on the role of VP Outreach. This has been an incredible experience and I absolutely LOVE my job on the executive board. I have a plethora of new ideas for next semester and would love the opportunity to continue my role. Jackie Krevolin - 1st choice: Secretary, 2nd choice: VP Administration I am a third year Industrial Engineering major from outside of Philadelphia, PA. Outside of SWE, I am heavily involved in my sorority and Connect with Tech. SWE has given me so much in relation to career opportunities as well as friends and I want to continue to give back to this great organization. I currently serve as Secretary for SWE, and would love to continue to hold this position in the next school year. This semester we have been able to increase participation in events, partially because of the amount of publicity we have been able to do. I want to continue to find new and creative ways to get girls excited about our meetings and events. Christina Wangen - 1st choice: Secretary, 2nd choice: Treasurer I am a 3rd year Industrial Engineering major with a Spanish minor and originally from Cary, NC. While I have been at Georgia Tech I have become involved in Zeta Tau Alpha and the Catholic Center. I participated in the Mexico/Ecuador Spanish LBAT during the summer of 2013 and had the amazing opportunity to travel to the Galapagos Islands. I am returning to campus after a year of co-oping with Johnson & Jonson and will be finishing out my third and final semester this upcoming summer. Johnson & Johnson has taught me important professional, technical, and communication skills I have applied in both my personal and academic life. In my free time I enjoy reading, traveling, golf, and tennis. Alizeh Rehman - 1st choice: President My name is Alizeh Rehman and I am a 3rd year Chemical Engineering major. This is my 3rd year being involved with SWE. I walked into my first meeting for SWE at Georgia Tech and absolutely fell in love with the organization! I knew from that point that I wanted to be involved in SWE for the rest of my college career as well as my professional career. I have been on the Executive Board for 4 semesters and served as the Treasurer and Vice President of Administration. I would now like to have the opportunity to give back to the organization that has invested so much in my personal and professional growth by serving as the President for SWE! Shivani Saini - 1st choice: VP Administration, 2nd choice: Treasurer My name is Shivani Saini, and I am from TX, home of the Dallas Cowboys and Dr. Pepper. This is my 2nd year being a Ramblin’ Wreck, as well as my 2nd year being a SWEster. I have previously served as the Social Chair and the Publicity Chair for SWE. I love SWE, and I have made some of my very best friends here. I am a very extroverted person, and I love meeting new people. My greatest experiences in SWE thus far have been attending the conferences (in Tuscaloosa and LA) and getting a chance to expand my professional horizons in a casual setting and getting to know some of my fellow SWEsters. Therefore, I would like to run for VP of Administration, where I will be able to plan out these conferences and help others have an experience as wonderful as mine. I would also like to run for the position of Treasurer because I love money ☺ and because I am a Techie who loves dealing with numbers. SWE is an organization really close to my heart. I love getting to spend time with such amazing women, and I look forward to several more years being a SWEster. Giovanna Colo - 1st choice: VP Administration Hi! My name is Giovanna Colo and I’m a third year Chemical Engineering student from The Bahamas. I first joined the GT chapter of the Society of Women Engineers three years ago by attending Tea With the Dean in 2012. It was at that Tea With the Dean that I saw the potential in SWE, and I knew that this was an organization that I would be committed to for the remainder of my undergraduate career. My passion for SWE developed throughout my first year -I was actively involved with all aspects of SWE: outreach, socials, conference, and professional meetings. By the end of that year, I had gained so much from SWE and become so passionate about it that I decided I would give back to the organization by serving on the executive board. I recognized that being a SWE officer would give me the opportunity to directly impact others through sharing my passion, and provide for girls in SWE what was provided to me when I first got to Tech: friendship, mentorship and professional development. Since then I have held two leadership positions: Vice President of Membership - Fall 2013, FASET Chair - Summer 2014, and Vice President of Membership - Spring 2015. For my last year at Georgia Tech, I remain committed to SWE and it would be my pleasure and an honor to be your Vice President of Administration for 2015-2016.
