 BEHAVIOUR
READING
 Make it fun
 Reading must be carried out daily: in both Maltese and
English.
 Books both in Maltese and English should be available.
 Show interest in their reading – ask them to tell you about
the story!
 Reading helps increase vocabulary and decrease spelling
mistakes in both languages.
 Speak in English during English reading
 Speak in Maltese during Maltese reading
Writing
Writing (in both Maltese and English)
will include various writing tasks such
as letters, articles, advertisements,
reports etc. So it’s important for
students to be exposed to such
material and read newspapers,
magazine articles etc.
Social Studies
Social Studies will include 2
fieldworks which will form part of
the assessment. Topics covered
for the Half Yearly Exam will not
be assessed again in the Annual
Exam.
MATHS
 Importance of investigations in Maths Exams
will focus more on investigations rather than
exercises.
These investigations will ask
students to apply various skills. Children must
try to first work it out on their own.
 Very Important to know multiplication tables
Correction/Tiswija needs to be carried out each and every time the pupil
makes an error. This should be done prior to the CW or HW.
At home check copybooks of children and see that they are doing their
work neatly and unfinished classwork must be completed out at home.
• Underlining of date, title, fill in … is very important
• Use ruler
