Analysis: “Just A Boy”

“I bit my tongue in the ark of conversation.

I don't know why.

I don't know why.”

This verse is showing that Angus is really nervous talking to the “girl of his dreams” and the conversation has reached it peak and he doesn’t know what to say anymore.

One kiss from you and I'm drunk up on your potion

That big old smile is all you wore

Describing the Song:

● The tempo is Allegro and the meter is quadruple. This affects the lyrics because it adds to meaning of feeling childish and happy because of someone special.

● The harmony is major and consonance. This affects the lyrics because it gives it a joyful feeling as if a child were to get a new toy.

Importance to me:

● This was the first song I heard from them and it is my favorite song by them.

● I like the meaning behind it and how someone can make you feel so happy that you feel as if you were a child again.

● The rhythm in the song makes me feel really happy and I love the sound of the harmonica.
