Some announcements were made at the beginning of the meeting. These announcements included: Extending voting on the project charter to July 9, 2012; Canceling the July 5, 2012 Work Group Meeting; and Scheduling consensus vote review on July 12, 2012. Instructions were also given that all participants should send a message to “all panelists” when using the WebEx chat feature. Use Case Introduction The Use Case Team (Merideth Vida, Health Stevens, Virginia Riehl, and Emily Mitchell) led the discussion on Use Cases beginning with Use Case Development. The goal in the Use Case step of the initiative is to leverage the work done to date (including the work done on the Project Charter). The Use Case team introduced various diagrams (Use Case Diagram, Context Diagram, Activity Graph Diagram, and Sequence Diagrams) to depict different aspects of Use Case development. (see 6/28/12 meeting materials). The Use Case team also introduced the functional, system, and data set requirements (see 6/28/12 meeting materials). The team also noted (in response to a question from one of the participants) that Enterprise Architect was one of the main tools used in creating Use Cases. A conversation was also started about the components to be used in the first Use Case. In the first Use Case, the actors are the CDS Implementer and CDS Knowledge Artifact Supplier. (The second Use Case, the web services Use Case, will contain the CDS consumer as an actor. The second Use Case will leverage the knowledge gained from the first Use Case.) In scope items were determined as standards to structure medical knowledge in a shareable executable format for use in CDS. Out of scope items were listed as: Authoring, creation, and maintenance of CDS; Search mechanisms; Means of sharing; User presentation; and Knowledge repository design. Data Element Development Group There was an announcement on the creation of a small data element group made up of community participants. The Data Element Development (DED) group will support the notion of getting volunteers involved in data contribution. It is anticipated that the DED will meet multiple times in order to draft a list of data elements to present to the Internal Support Team. A sign-up sheet will be posted to the HeD Wiki whereby volunteers will submit their “statement of commitment” and past data elements experience. CDS Providers/Suppliers The Use Case team also addressed that the community participants should post their idea on what CDS providers/suppliers should be contacted to aid in the initiative. A link will be posted onto the HeD Wiki page whereby participants can contribute this information. Use Case Sub-Groups Scope and Assumptions group was formed to address any additions, comments, or questions relating to the Use Case team’s Scope and Assumptions PowerPoint slides. The group consists of: Victor Lee, Robin Williams, Ken Pool, and John Faughnan. Their additions to the slides are due 7/9/12. Sue Boisvert has signed up to contribute to the Communities of Interest section and would prefer to work with additional volunteers. Volunteers for the Actors section of the slide show will be selected at a later date.
