Gateway address purpose is to send and receive packets in and out of networks. Understand how network information is configured on a Windows computer Troubleshoot a hidden gateway address problem What is the default gateway address? 172.16.255.254 Use the ping command to verify connectivity with IP address 127.0.0.1. Was the ping successful? yes Use the ping command to verify connectivity with IP address 127.0.0.1. Were responses successful? If not, why? yes 127 adresses are localhost address. j.5.5.2.2.pka (Experiment) k.5.6.1.3.pka (Experiment) l.6.2.3.4 (Observe) m.6.5.7.1 (Experiment) n.6.5.8.1 (Experiment) o.6.6.3.2 (Observe) p.6.6.4.2 (Observe) q.6.7.1.2 (Observe) r. 6.7.2.2 (Observe) s. 6.7.5.2 (Experiment) t. From the host attached to R1, is it possible to ping the default gateway? yes 2. From the host attached to R2, is it possible to ping the default gateway? yes 3. From the router R1, is it possible to ping the Serial 0/0/0 interface of R2? yes 4. From the router R2, is it possible to ping the Serial 0/0/0 interface of R1? yes In this activity I learned about creating subnets and how to assign it to the network devices. It was really hard to get the numbers right in each subnet. Skipping first subnet made it even more confusing to understand the task. But ones i got the right number of subnets and the right range on each subnet I was able to complete the task. 6.8.1.3 (Experiment) Reflection: Reflect upon how much you have learned so far! Practicing IP subnetting skills and networking building, configuration and testing skills will serve you well throughout your networking courses. Learned more about planning creating subnets this time with VLSM, had problems with the subnet calculations, especially the range part. Router traceing was hard to get right sense I forgot how to do that. Had some problems with the cable connection too but retried it and got it to work. 7.4.1.3 (Observe) v. 7.5.1.1 (Observe) w. 7.6.1.3 (Experiment)
