Coach will ask for documentation of ALL publications one
month before Procedures Oversight Designee (POD) review.
•
Provide coach with all materials in dossier order and list with
pages numbers
•
Suggest use Adobe Connect, face-to face, phone or other to
discuss meeting with coach.

• Can’t prove it? It did not happen!!
• SAVE EVERYTHING!!
• Hard copy (like the old pre-computer days)
• Annual 3 ring binders
• Save electronic files.

• Add to dossier AS SOON as possible
• Accurately list all authors, titles and people the
way it is listed on the paper, research report,
poster or in the proceedings this makes it more
searchable.
• Anything to prove the best you can.

• Formal letter or email from the conference
organizers will work if changes did not make
proceedings
• Certificates work for posters and presentations
• Keep paper copy documentation with your name
on it.

Suggest you apply for PI status with OSU
•
It is suggested in the OSUE policy and procedures handbook
this be done within the first year on the job at OSUE
•

expected to apply for PI status within the first year
after they begin employment with OSU Extension.

PI or co-PI responsible for writing, carrying out, managing
funds and reporting.
•
If you are a Collaborator list as such.
•
Site or state PI?
•
Get credit for the grant responsibilities you perform
•
Don’t perform those duties you won’t get credit for.
•
Only report the grant activity you performed.

Do not “cut & paste” what another PI or co-PI has
recorded.
•
Write your own description of what YOU did for the grant
or funding.
•
Give yourself the credit for what YOU did and deserve.
•
Write the descriptor about YOU.
•
Nobody will do it for you!!

Prove it to the Committee
•
Remember ALL program areas are represented on the
Committee.
•
Others in your program area may understand what you do and
that you are a hard worker, BUT……..
•
Others do not understand.
•
Explain yourself, your work and prove yourself in academic
terms so all program areas can understand.
