University Partners Working for You! Hubbard – Bert, Inc Student Health Plan Preview Health Insurance for Students •Even Healthy Students may need healthcare services while at College. •Student Health Centers provide many primary care services at no charge, but they are not equipped to provide imaging, or diagnostic laboratory services. •Students needing x-ray, an ER visit, blood work, or a weekend visit to an urgent care center, will not have access to these services without insurance or incurring a significant bill. •A single hospitalization can cost thousands of dollars. Health Insurance for Students •Having Insurance means having access to the medical care needed in a way that minimized disruption to your child’s studies, life and finances. •While Mercyhurst University currently requires insurance for Athletes and International Students, it strongly encourages ALL students to carry adequate health insurance. •Mercyhurst students not currently required to show proof of insurance, are still welcome to purchase the Highmark Community Blue PPO. Rules for Enrollment Mercyhurst University requires all student Athletes and all International Undergraduates to have certain minimum health care requirements in order to attend classes.
