IDENTIFYING THE PROBLEM

After observations of the skate floor, input
from Nicole, and team discussions, team two
came up with the following target problems:
* Decrease the accident rate of skaters.
* Identify ways to standardise and maintain
consistent floor guard behaviour.
* Make Skate World less legally liable.
PROJECT MISSION


Mission: Generate, design and develop solutions to floor
guard behaviour and customer safety issues, and
provide a plan for evaluating the implementation of
these solutions.
Objectives:

2. Decrease the accident rate of skaters
3. Identify ways to standardise and maintain
consistent floor guard behaviour
4. Provide legal safeguards for the client’s
organisation

possible solutions
were generated.
 These were brought
to the client for
ranking & selection.

SCOPE & CALENDAR ADJUSTED
As the semester moved along, team two
realized the scope of the project was too
large for the time available.
 After consultation with the client, the project
manager scaled back the scope of the
project to the incentive and feedback
solution.

INTERVIEWING FLOOR GUARDS


At least seven floor
guards were
interviewed to
discover what
motivated them and
what incentives
they would most
appreciate.
From these,
several incentives
were selected for
review by Nicole.
FEEDBACK SYSTEM IDEAS

A sketch for a
feedback board
was drawn up.

The board and
incentive ideas
were brought to
Nicole for
selection &
review.
