Objective:
The following project is designed to allow you some choice in assignment activities by
individualizing instruction and by appealing to different learning styles. Using this approach promotes
higher levels of thinking and holds the learner accountable for his/her own learning.
Topic
1.Viruses
Part A –
1. Definition
2. Types – List and describe the most
common types
3. Statistics – how many computers
and/or users are affected
4. Sources of viruses – Where do they
come from?
5. Protection Against – What can we do
to protect ourselves?
6. Action to take if infected – What can
be done if you get a virus?
Choices
Choose 1 (one) of the following software applications to use:
1. MSWord
(2 pages minimum – Use report format)
2. MSPowerpoint (5-10 slides – excluding intro and conclusion)

Create a document that summarizes
your findings.

Select what you believe to be the most
important findings in your research and
complete one of the activities to the
right.
Choose 1 (one) of the following activities to represent your

1. Write song lyrics and/or music.
2. Draw or illustrate up to 3 three aspects of your topic.
3. Write a poem.
4. Draw a cartoon strip about some aspect related to your topic.
5. Do a surreal drawing or painting.
6. Make a collage with themes and ideas from your topic.
7. Draw a map that indicates what areas of the world are affected
by your topic
8. Create a scrapbook of articles and explain why you chose each
article.
9. Create a booklet
10. Choose one aspect of your topic. Write an opinion essay
agreeing or disagreeing with your thesis.
