Office of Campus Tours TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY AMBASSADORS PROGRAM Greetings Applicant! Thank you for your interest in the Tuskegee University Ambassadors Program. The University Ambassadors serve as the official tour guides for the Office of Campus Tours. The University Ambassadors Program seeks to provide currently enrolled students with the opportunity to become student recruiters for the institution. To this end, students selected must exhibit strong academic excellence and be active students on campus. The primary responsibility of the Tuskegee University Ambassadors is to provide quality customer service, and informative and engaging campus tours to prospective students, their parents and/or advisors in a way that cast the University community in the greatest possible light. In so doing, the intended result is for those prospective students to eagerly apply for enrollment! The Tuskegee University Ambassadors further assist in projecting the positive image of Tuskegee University by: hosting visitors scheduling and providing campus tours for prospective students, and sometimes dignitaries helping prospective students and their families better understand the past, present, and future contributions of the University and maintaining a positive and optimistic attitude while volunteering university sponsored events such as Convocations, Open House, etc. If selected, you will be joining the noble mission of sharing the legacy of Mother Tuskegee with prospective students. Sincerely, Tuskegee University Ambassadors GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Because of the uniqueness of this program, acceptance into the program is very selective. Therefore, applicants are asked to meet the following general requirements: Must be a currently enrolled Tuskegee University student who has completed at least 15 academic hours. Must have 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average. Must be an active student on Tuskegee University’s campus. Must exhibit excellent leadership skills. Must have excellent oratory skills and be able to talk to both large and small groups. Must be willing to work flexible hours. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS Each applicant must successfully submit a completed application with supporting documents and pass a required test and interview(s) in order to be selected for admission into the program. Each applicant is required to submit the following: A fully completed application with required essay questions. One (1) letter of recommendation outlining applicant’s academic performance and social activeness on campus. Letters should be submitted at the same time with application in a sealed envelope. Copy of unofficial transcript. Applications may be submitted either in person to the Office of Campus Tours located on the first floor of the Margaret Murray Washington Hall in the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management or electronically at ambassadors@mytu.tuskegee.edu. If you are submitting your application electronically, please be advised that your letter of recommendation is due to the office by the deadline mentioned below. Failure to submit your letter of recommendation on time will result in your application being incomplete; and therefore, late.
