Celebrating Achievement
Celebrating 47 years of quality services
A message from Yolo Employment Services Executive Director, Alice Tapley
Dear Friends of YES,
Since 1968 Yolo Employment Services has been empowering adults with disabilities to realize their potential.
Every day dedicated staff work hand-in-hand with these individuals providing services and solutions, assisting each
individual to overcome barriers and focus on developing new skills.
Our Board of Directors have been a key component in this achievement. Their unwavering support, valued input
and steadfast vision continue to strengthen and energize our agency. The staunch backing of Friends of the
Workshop, Kiwanis, individuals and businesses throughout Yolo County coupled with strategic partnerships with
other organizations has made Yolo Employment Services the success it is today.
Where do we go from here? We want to do MORE!
* Offer MORE services
*Reach out to MORE people
*Inspire MORE smiles
*Celebrate MORE successes
We look forward to you joining us on this exciting adventure!

2014-2015 ANNUAL REPORT
We offer a variety of programs that individuals can participate in to maximize their potential.
ADULT TRAINING PROGRAM (ATP)
The Adult Training Program is a site based, personal goal-oriented program of developmental and therapeutic
services designed to develop, maintain, or increase an individual's independent functioning in self-care, physical
and emotional growth, socialization, communication, education, prevocational skills, and community integration.
WORK ACTIVITY PROGRAM
The Work Activity Program offers vocational rehabilitation and personal/social adjustment services designed to
enable individuals to better participate as members of the community and workforce. Rehabilitation services
within the Program are tailored to meet specific objectives established for each enrolled client/worker. Examples
include the following: developing new skills (while maintaining old ones), establishing good health and social
habits, creating good work habits and attributes, improving quality of life, awareness and confidence, and
developing positive concepts of personal worth. Individuals usually start in this program which is a stepping stone
for clients to gain skills to be able to move to a supported employment work crew.
SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT/WORK CREWS
The Supported Employment/Work Crews work offsite in groups in a variety of integrated job opportunities with
the supervision of a Crew Leader. This program helps the individual to develop the skills, work habits and attitudes
necessary for performing and retaining a job once they want to move on to more independence.
COMMUNITY/INDIVIDUAL PLACEMENT
Individuals work a variety of shifts in the community in their own jobs, hired and paid by their
employers and receive Job Coaching services to assist with training, communication, problem
solving, advancement negotiations and much more. We also provide an External Situational
Assessment which is a way for individuals with disabilities to discover their skills and abilities
through real work opportunities.

ADULT TRAINING PROGRAM (ATP)
During the past year, the Adult Training Program has served approximately thirty nine (39) adults with
developmental disabilities in a day training activity center. The Adult Training Program over the past year did
volunteer work for Fourth and Hope. They once again had outings to Davis Explore It, T-Rex Planet, Cache Creek
Nature Preserve, Crocker Art Museum and other exciting outings that the clients not only enjoyed but were
provided a great learning experience. Amazing Animals also brought a class to us from Rocklin. We had an
opportunity to volunteer at the Senior/ Community Center this year. We also had several classes that were hands
on this year. We had sign language, nutrition and science classes that were really educational and exciting. We
are looking forward to next year.

SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT/WORK CREWS
The Supported Employment Program continues to have two work groups at Walgreens Distribution Center, with
four (4) clients attaching security labels to boxes and products and four (4) clients washing, cleaning and repairing
totes using a high tech operation. We continue to have our site at Adult Education here in Woodland. A
supervisor and two clients run a snack bar for the students and teachers. The site at Adult Education continues to
make jewelry to sell at different venues in the community. In the past year we continued to maintain the Elkhorn
rest stop for the State of California with a group of five (5) clients. This year we also have a new crew at Truck
Accessories Group, a local manufacturer of camper shells. This coming year we are embarking on a new program
in which we will partner with Source America/CyclePoint to collect e-waste recycling. We are excited about this
new adventure.

COMMUNITY/INDIVIDUAL PLACEMENT
We supported eighteen (18) individuals working on their own jobs in the community with the help of a job coach.
These individuals are provided long term support through funding from Alta Regional Center. Over the past year
we provided job development services for thirty-one (31) individuals which led to some successful employment
opportunities. Of the thirty one individuals we provided job development services, seventeen placed into their
own jobs in the community. We ramped up our situational assessments for the Department of Rehabilitation this
year. Next year we hope to increase the number of individuals who are seeking employment to accomplish their
goals.
