Position Announcement: Assistant Professor of Dance Studies, Tenure Track Salary: commensurate with qualifications and experience Start Date: August 2015 The Department of Theatre & Dance at the University at Buffalo, www.theatredance.buffalo.edu, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Dance Studies. We seek a dance scholar who will maintain a robust research agenda and establish themselves as a leader and innovator in the field. This individual will significantly contribute teaching expertise to our graduate study and undergraduate Dance programs and will actively participate in ongoing curriculum development, including the design and implementation of a new MFA Dance program. Minimum requirements: Ph.D. in Dance Studies, Performance Studies, or related field; and college teaching experience. Candidates with an MFA degree will be considered if background is well matched to the responsibilities of the position. Specialization is open, but we are particularly interested in candidates whose research focuses on the integration of theory and practice; embodied inquiry; and/or social, cultural and/or global perspectives. Our new colleague will teach a regular course load (4 per year), including history and theory, with opportunities to develop courses in the candidate's area of specialization.
