Subject: Project Four
Introduction
For this assignment we were asked to compose three letters. This memo will discuss the
preparation of materials for Project Four. Writing these letters allowed me to gain expertise in
business letter formats as well as the rhetorical strategies of composing "good news" and "bad
news" messages.
Sales Letter
When composing my sales letter I used my notes from class proved by my instructor as well as
personal research about constructing sales letters. I stated that my offer would be beneficial to
both companies and how we would both benefit from this partnership.
Good News Letter
In writing my “Good News” letter I followed protocol by restating the reasons it would be
advantageous to both companies as well as the conditions that must be agreed and steps to be
followed in order for both companies to move forward. I then provided my company’s contact
information, to set up a meeting to “seal the deal”.
Bad News Letter
In the “Bad News” letter I notified the company of another offer that was proposed to me and
made it clear that I decided to take them up on that offer. However, I made it clear that I would
enjoy working them and the future and my company and that my company will keep them on
file.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I attempted to follow the steps and use the notes provided by you, my instructor.
Per request, I have enclosed a copy of my proposal letter sent to Ms. Elum, as well as her
proposal, good news, and bad news letters.

Arm Candy is interested in expanding our company, as well as building our clientele. I
understand that your company is a unique scarf boutique that customizes in a variety of dazzling
scarves of different shades, colors, styles and patterns. A partnership between the two
companies will be very beneficial in my opinion, seeing as though we have a lot to offer each
other. Your customers enjoy expressing their style, fashion sense, and creativity through their
lovely hats and scarves as do mine with their handbags and purses. What better way to make
them happier than to come up with a design that coordinates your hats and scarves with my
handbags.
I’ve come up with a plan that may be economically beneficial to both companies. If your
products are sold in my stores, I should receive 30% profit of your sales seeing as though I am a
local company and there are other cost factors that go into selling worldwide, on my end. Also,
if my products sell in my stores, you will receive 25% of all profits that I make from doing so.
If all goes as planned, this partnership can be extremely worthwhile for both Arm Candy as well
as Dazzle with a Splash of Pizzazz. Hopefully, we can come to a consensus on the most
beneficial arrangement for both companies. Hope to hear from you soon!

dazzling scarfs of different shades, colors, styles, and patterns. Since the launching of our new
customized scarves our company has grown tremendously. I have decided to expand my
company because in today’s society people are into expressing themselves through the
customization of their own accessories. And think about how this could be a good opportunity
for our company.
Dazzle with a Splash of Pizzazz would like to build a working relationship with your company
