Lesson Plans for the Week of January 18, 2016
1st Hour – Current Events – 8th on M,W, F & 7th on T,Th (then they rotate on F)
3rd Hour – PREP
LUNCH is after 4th Hour
7th or 8th Grade Current Events


Students will summarize the stories that they watched and we will give opinions
on them.
We may discuss other current events going on.
7th Grade Reading - 2nd 6th 8th HOURS
This week’s objectives are to become better with vocabulary for our next story
and use identify literary devices.
We will work on the following standards:
7.RL.4 - Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in
a text, including figurative and connotative meanings; analyze the
impact of rhymes and other repetitions of sounds (e.g., alliteration) on a
specific verse or stanza of a poem or section of a story or drama.
Monday

Introduce Kid President (video), watch Martin Luther King, Jr. video,
watch dream video, discuss importance of dreams & assign journal
entry – students may choose to answer 1 of the following:
-What are you teaching the world?
-What is your dream?
-How can we make the world more awesome?


