PROSPECTUS
Fiber Visions: Works by Dallas Area Fiber Artists
Fiber Visions will showcase recent work by members of the Dallas Area Fiber Artists at Brazos
Gallery at Richland College, Dallas.
ELIGIBILITY: All DAFA members in good standing (dues paid in full prior to entry deadline
date) are invited to submit up to 3 original works created within the last 3 years. All fiber media
is accepted. Maximum size is 6.0 ft. high, no width limitations.
ENTRY FEE: $0 – There is no fee for entry!
JUROR: Vicki Mayhan is a full-time faculty and Department Chair for art at
Richland College. She is starting her seventh year at Richland and teaches Art
Appreciation, Art History I & II, and Design I. Vicki is on the Board of Directors of
the ArtCentre of Plano. Prior to coming to Richland, she was the Director of
Galleries at Collin College for nine years. She says “The best part of my job is
having opportunities that allow collaboration with the community, local art groups, and Richland
students to generate a partnership of innovation and creativity.”

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
ONLY DIGITAL IMAGES WILL BE ACCEPTED! Images of work are to be in jpg format
and sized no larger than 4 inches x 6 inches at 300 dpi. E-mail completed entry form
with images attached to richlandshow@dallasfiberartists.org
Please include DAFA Fiber Visions in the message header.
Submit three (3) clear, focused, well-lit images per piece with your entry - one image
of the entire piece and one detail image of the piece. If submitting an image of a 3D
sculpture or garment, please include an additional image of the back of the piece.
Artists should submit entries that showcase the work only. Pay careful attention to
lighting. The submitted images will be used to judge your work.

FILE NAME FORMAT:
Please name image files in the following format:

PREPARATION OF ARTWORK:
All items related to the show, including delivery packaging must be labeled with the
entrant’s name and contact information.

Hanging pieces must be framed and wired (no sawtooth or zigzag hangers).

Art quilts are to have sleeves for hanging attached.

Jewelry items are to be mounted in a frame.

Artists are responsible for supplying dress forms for garments.
DELIVERY OF ARTWORK:
Artists will be responsible for delivering the accepted pieces by Friday, September 25,
2015.
JUDGING:
Final judging will be on-site. Entries that differ significantly from their digital images
may be rejected. The decision of the juror is final.
INSURANCE/LIABILITY STATEMENT:
Work will be insured while on exhibit by Brazos Gallery, Richland College at the price
assigned by the artist.
OTHER GUIDELINES:



There will be no changes in title or entry description after the piece is submitted for
consideration.
No artwork can be removed during the run of the show.
All artwork must be ready for display.
RETURN OF ARTWORK:
Artists will be responsible for picking up exhibited artwork from Brazos Gallery Monday,
November 2, 2015.
